Is there an equivalent to dpreviews.com for video cameras?

I'm looking for an HD camera, preferably in the 400-1000 range. I'd REALLY like to get one that can do true 1080p or 1080i/720p that isn't doing garbage up-processing.

Personal recommendations are welcome, but I'm really looking for a site that does comprehensive comparisons. And no, cnet does not count.

checked them out, but they only have a handful of reviews.

by the looks of it the Canon HV20 is by far my best buy

what types of projects you looking to do with it? or is it just a multi-use kind of deal you're looking for

I'd really like something I can use to start posting instructional videos, animation, and maybe eventually a few short films to youtube/iFilm/my website.

Also it'd be nice to finally have a camcorder for family gatherings and vacations/events.

I've always told myself to wait for affordable HD, and now it seems to be here. I REALLY want a true 16:9, 1080p camera with a usable 24p mode for film. It seems like all the flash/dvd based HD camcorders use AVCHD which is 1440*1080 instead of 1920*1080 with HDV.

But really im just lost, I have no clue what the "best buy" is, or if it worth shelling out twice as much for a pro-sumer camera that will last me longer.
