1. who in the hell is ryan adams?2. why did yelling out "Sadlacks" elicit a giggle?
9/15/2007 8:26:12 PM
cuts like a knife.
9/15/2007 8:34:20 PM
Ryan Adams is one of the best and most mind-bendingly inconsistent songwriters in the world. He's from Jacksonville, NC, and used to hang out at Sadlack's when he lived in Raleigh.
9/15/2007 9:07:57 PM
great show, btw.
9/15/2007 10:12:50 PM
^^ He's also one of the mind-bendingly biggest douchebags on the planet.
9/15/2007 10:45:42 PM
I think it's wholly accepted that he's a monumental asshole.I couldn't really care less, though. I don't know the guy, or have any pretenses that we'll meet and/or kick it one day.
9/15/2007 11:38:41 PM
^I've met the guy, and yes he's not intentionally a douche but still is one^^couldn't agree more. Also he drank at sadlacks back in the day before whiskytown got big and THEY got their start at the Brewery which is one reason he comes back and plays there and local 506 in chapel Hell. they gave him the start that propelled him to overwelmingly biggest douche ever.Having said that, he is inconsistant and does write good music from time to time which is why he gets the respect he has...
9/16/2007 12:01:50 AM
he is a total asshole but i don't care. i like his music.
9/16/2007 9:23:51 AM
most people are assholes.but not all people can write great songs.
9/16/2007 9:30:26 AM
old 97's wrote "crash on the barrelhead" about himfucker slashed their tour vans tires in a drunken stupor
9/16/2007 12:20:58 PM
summer of '69!
9/16/2007 1:54:22 PM
More like, he used to WORK at Sadlacks!Make me a sammich, bitch.
9/17/2007 5:26:58 AM
The only time I was in Sadlack's while he was there, he was fighting with Caitlin Cary. Of course, since I was thirteen at the time, I didn't figure out who they were for two more years.
9/17/2007 1:43:39 PM
going to see him in madison in a week and a halfi will yell sadlacks
9/18/2007 10:30:01 PM
take me hometo the peaceful valley
9/27/2007 1:34:03 AM
JCN is my favorite Ryan Adams album by leaps and bounds.
9/27/2007 3:38:10 AM
mine too. then, suicide handbook. then, cold roses.
9/27/2007 7:50:46 AM
^^ couldn't agree more. Being from Jacksonville myself, he pretty much says it all
9/27/2007 10:35:38 PM
^^^are you serious, maybe being from jacksonville changes things but I always thought Heartbreaker was far and away his best
9/28/2007 12:56:35 AM
I'm not saying JCN is better than Heartbreaker, but I enjoy it more from top to bottom. Either way, those two are way out ahead of the rest.
9/28/2007 6:39:48 AM
http://www.cnn.com/2007/SHOWBIZ/Music/09/28/people.ryanadams.ap/index.htmllolI also enjoy Heartbreaker and JCN much more than anything else. I actually never knew anyone else out there liked JCN that much, but it seems that I was wrong.

saw ryan tonighthe talked a lot of shit about minneapolis and was VERY talkative all nightgood show
9/29/2007 1:12:13 AM
He didn't talk so much in Charlottesville. Only really a couple times did he really address the crowd, and that was while his guitar was being tuned, and to say that he was "in a good space." Otherwise, he cracked wise with his bandmates a few times, and made short jests here and there.
9/29/2007 1:22:22 AM
he talked for minutes at a time, after almost every songhe was inebriated
9/29/2007 8:26:58 PM
he's got a bad history with minneapolis right
