I'll start with Batman: Harvest Breed.I know it got some bad reviews and the illustration style is kind of difficult to get used to, but I grew to like it. Batman against demons or vampires just seems to work--Batman: Crimson Mist is another suggestion. And please don't turn this into a debate about this or that story. Just post the graphic novels/comic books you have read or would like to read that are in the horror genre or that would be good Halloween reads. Simple, right?

In the interest of being as obvious as possible, I'll say Batman: The Long Halloween.

30 Days of Night was really good. Apparently, this is a series but I only read the one--and I think a movie about this is due out this year. Not sure, though.

Good horror funnybooks?Warren Ellis' Black Gas (Black Gas 2, notsomuch)Tag (Tag: Cursed, also good)The Walking Dead (phenomenal!!!)Hack/SlashMarvel Zombies isn't exactly horror, but it's still good times.Batman: The Long Halloween is also non-horror goodness, but if you're referencing Batman stories from word go then you probably already knew that.
9/13/2007 5:38:43 AM
Marvel Zombies is always fun, but I see that Marvel is also releasing this collection next month that fits the horror genre.

laurel k hamilton writes about a necromancer who's main job is raising the dead, but who's side profession is hunting vampires... they've made it into a graphic novel, looks pretty good.

In the Marvel Zombies one, everyone turns into a zombie because of some disease or other, right? Then why wasn't Wolverine or anyone else with advanced healing able to develop a resistance to it?
10/1/2008 1:45:57 PM
I haven't read these, but they look pretty good.
10/23/2008 3:34:04 AM
^^ Because they're freaking zombies. It even points out how their regenerative powers don't work anymore. Something funny even happens to Wolverine in the book because of that.

Just finished The Nobody by Jeff Lemaire... not really scary, but it does involve an interesting re-telling of the Invisible Man story.I think the 30 Days of Night series, particularly the first three books, are great Halloween reading. The batman books already mentioned in this thread, along with Batman- The Cult, Batman- Hush, and Arkham Asylum:A Serious House on Serious Earth, are also great.
