it's coming one day
9/10/2007 1:44:31 PM
^^you are easily frightened.A tape recorder and / or a video camera could definitely come in handy in those situations, however.
9/10/2007 1:50:42 PM
fuck the poolice
9/10/2007 1:56:31 PM
haha what a dumb cop. He says we have car thieves. I don't see any cars to steal except the one the kid drove to the lot. lolhaha i like how after he finds out there is a camera he tries to act 'nicer' if you can call it nicer.he got paid not to sue the city??? wtf. he should have sued and made an example of the first drunk cop[Edited on September 10, 2007 at 2:11 PM. Was the cop reprimanded? What an ass, totally the kind of cops everyone hates. Honestly though as much as he might hate cops, the guy should have just said he was waiting on a friend and been a little more cordial to the cop.Funny the cop finally notices the camera and after that he calms down quite a bit. Still acts like a jerk, but he stops with the totally insane threats.
9/10/2007 2:13:10 PM
I could understand someone turning on a camera when the trouble started up but I find it a bit odd that the guy had it rolling well before the cop even got behind him.
9/10/2007 2:13:26 PM
^he got beat up by a off-duty cop and the city paid him to not sue.
9/10/2007 2:14:07 PM
I would make sure to investigate the laws in your local area before using a camera. Police officers can get pissed and hit you with an illegal wiretapping charge for recording audio with the camera.http://digg.com/world_news/Man_Faces_7_Year_Sentence_Under_Wiretapping_Law_For_Filming_Police_5
9/10/2007 2:20:30 PM
That's ridiculous. I'm actually surprised we got to see that tape. That cop seems like the type that would haul him to jail and the tape would happen to disappear in the meantime.
9/10/2007 2:27:01 PM
9/10/2007 2:52:52 PM
we do not have civil liberties anymore
9/10/2007 3:09:05 PM
So, correct me I am wrong, but in the state of north carolina, we can tape as much as we want, since the state law dictates only one person need to know about the recording for it to be legal...
9/10/2007 3:26:01 PM
I don't say stuff like this oftenbut I actually hope this toolbag gets shot in the face one nightfuck him and fuck whoever lets this asshole keep his jobit's no longer our government, we're slowly becoming their subjects
9/10/2007 3:27:53 PM
Didnt the cop say he wasnt using turn signals? Looks like he used them to make both turns. This cop should be fired or prosecuted.
9/10/2007 3:30:01 PM
he should be fired AND prosecutedthere are decent LEOs out thereand LEOs need to be held to a higher standard than the rest of the populacefuck this asshole
9/10/2007 3:31:39 PM
DO YOU WANT TO TRY ME, YOUNG BOY????!!?!?

9/10/2007 4:36:03 PM
just an fyi, there is another google video and article on that "newspaper" site about him being detained/harrassed at a checkpoint. he also talks about being charged with something and having it dropped in court in the first video. this kid is obviously out to get the officers in that county, but it sounds like for good reason. even though it seems he is provoking these incidents, they shouldn't be happening.
9/10/2007 4:42:34 PM
well if there are undercover cops and thats okay then why can't there be undercover citizens? lol.
9/10/2007 4:51:19 PM
I sent an email to a columnist at the St. Louis dispatch inquiring about their coverage of this item. Waiting to hear back...
9/10/2007 4:55:52 PM
I would not ever advocate violence against anyone, especially a man or woman thats doing their job...(IE the rest of LEOs that are good people and make this a better place for all of us)but this guy, well... he's crossed the line and it sounds like he may have done it before... or he was drunk on dutyI would never convict him if I was on a jury and he defended his UNALIENABLE RIGHTS
9/10/2007 5:38:30 PM
doesn't the cops voice sound kind of familiar....?you know, a bit whiny, cracks a lot?oh yeah!regarding asshole cops (not saying all cops are assholes, just the ones that happen to be) - it seems to be a common tactic for them to either make up or grossly exaggerate potential infractions and threaten the driver with them. About a month after I got my license I was driving around with some friends at night and we pulled into an empty harris teeter parking lot for one of my passengers to use a payphone (this was 1996 ). After leaving the lot i got swarmed by 4 cop cars and they pulled us out and started giving us shit, claiming reckless driving and stuff. They were literally lying to my face - claiming we were doing donuts, peeling out, etc. It was pretty incredible because I was driving an automatic jeep cherokee with 5 people, and i couldn't have peeled out if I wanted to, and I know what a donut is and we did nothing that could be mistaken for one. When they said "donut" and "peeling out" I firmly said "that's not true" and fortunately they didn't pursue that any more. did end up with an "endangering people and property" ticket. When asked what people and property I endangered, they said the "people" was the guy who was using the payphone, and the "property" was the light poles in the parking lot
9/10/2007 5:41:10 PM
Ohh do I have some stories to tell.. after my court date that is
9/10/2007 5:58:26 PM
everyone's got an asshole cop story. mine goes like this: 1999 coming home from a charlotte hornet's basketball game. My buddy is driving and we're trying to get out of the lot and onto the highway to get back home. We're approaching the on ramp, merge over into the right turn lane to get onto the ramp, and out of no where this white expedition comes FLYING around us on the left then cuts back infront of us and speeds down the on ramp. shit was insane. my buddy driving is pissed off about getting cut off like anyone would be. about 2 minutes later we catch up to the expedition that cut us off and as we pass we give him the finger....standard procedure for asshole drivers.so, the expedition begins to speed back up, pulls along side us and turns on his interior lights. he's waving something around and motioning to us. we're both like, what the fuck is that, a camera?? wait, no...its a badge. so my friend is kind of shocked and pretty nervous and so he pulls over. the expedition pulls behind us and out comes this fat, bald dude wearing sweats. he gets up to the window and we can see he's wearing Charlotte Meck PD sweats and he's holding his badge out...clearly he's off duty. Anyway, he gets up to the driver's window and begins shouting, "OK, WHO'S THE ASSHOLE WITH THE FINGER....?" well it was both of us, but i said it was me. He comes over to my window and proceeds to shout about "smartass kids!!" and do i know that he "OUGHT TO KICK YOUR ASS RIGHT HERE AND NOW?!" so after about 30 seconds of that, and of me nodding and saying yes sir he decides his work is done. he lumbers back to his expedition, waits for us to pull back onto the highway, and follows right on our ass all the way until we get to our exit. sorry for the words![Edited on September 10, 2007 at 6:18 PM. I've had several asshole cop incidents....all red neck cops. The only really nice cop I've ever come across was a black state trooper on the way up to VIR...right before the VA border.

A couple things while reading this that I thought of.1. Carrying around a pocket recorder is something I am going to highly consider.2. This kid wanted an incident, and he got it for sure. You can tear the cop down for being an asshole as much as possible, but we train our law enforcement to catch shady people and criminals. When they get guys like this being sketchy and irritable to basic questions, I can't really blame them for getting pissy. 3. This cop is a douche bag no doubt, but I don't see the root of the problem being at the cop level, at least, it isn't fixable at this leve. There are assholes in every walk of life, just like there are good people. The problem lies with the judges that are supposed to be impartial to the rule of law but more often than not end up siding with cops based on their word alone.
9/10/2007 9:50:21 PM
watched to 1:40 and thats all i need to see. The dumbass kid should have never got smart to the cop, he was asking for that shit...... or whatever happens in the rest of it. If he would have just answered correctly nothing would have happened. That little asshole was just like yall idiots, think you know everything....ok, now im at 7:00 and havent heard anything wrong yet......"Horrific video" wtf, you have got to be the worlds biggest cocksucker[Edited on September 10, 2007 at 11:18 PM. 9/10/2007 11:15:35 PM
Maybe he should have, but legally he doesn't have to. That's the point. People give up their civil rights for bullshit reasons and cops take advantage of it. The cop makes blatant statements about MAKING UP EVIDENCE AND LYING and you're only concerned with the kid not wanting to answer questions that he legally is neither required to answer nor obligated to???Wait till some shit like this happens to you and see what you think about it then.[Edited on September 10, 2007 at 11:18 PM. i wont happen to me because im not an asshole know it all to public officials
9/10/2007 11:19:57 PM
I have asshole cop stories as well as good cop storiesCop pulled a friend and I for going 20 over, he was polite, told us if he could look in the trunk he'd give us a warning, we agreed, he looked in the trunk and told us to slow down in the future and left.
9/10/2007 11:35:01 PM
Trust me, it can happen to anybody.
9/10/2007 11:41:19 PM
I thought cops were allowed to say pretty much whatever they want to, provided they don't actually follow through with illegal shit.
9/11/2007 12:03:04 AM
the SS is allowed to "lie and deceive in the pursuit of justice" , i'm not sure about ordinary cops
9/11/2007 12:11:15 AM
SS as in the United States Secret Service or Hitlers lot? lol
9/11/2007 12:15:46 AM
Under color of authorityLaw enforcement officers cannot commit crimes under color of authority. If you were black, would you just let a white cop call you "boy" and not file some type of complaint or lawsuit or punch him in the fucking mouth? (I don't advise the latter.)I've posted it time and again here: If you simply don't want to talk to cops--or you're guilty--just remain silent but follow other instructions. If it's a federal agent, you probably shouldn't say shit anyway, because now they just get you for the lie you probably told and to hell with the original "crime."
9/11/2007 12:17:49 AM
that video was pretty unbelievable.its interesting how the cop's behavior straightened up considerably (he quit screaming and threatening) only after he realized the camera was on and uploading to a secure source.the dude had a camera, maybe because he had been the victim of assault by an off-duty cop, and had (probably after a long and expensive court battle) been found not guilty and paid reparations.good for him.he was not, in any way, disrespectful to the cop. he asked if he had done anything wrong, or had committed a moving violation. that's totally within his rights, and is not unreasonable for any person to ask.i hope the cop gets fired, and has a lawsuit brought against him for civil rights violations.St. George, MO, is a cracker fucking suburb. its not like he was cruising up and down some ghetto parking lot looking for drugs.
9/11/2007 12:24:59 AM
I just really love this exchange:"What do you do?""I'm a painter.""Okay, let's say you're a painter."
9/11/2007 12:27:05 AM
^^ Don't know about MO, but I agree with the rest.

SCOREJust got an email back from Pat Gauen with the St Louis Post. They already have reporters checking this out, and there should be a story about it tomorrow. That cop is never going to know what hit him.[Edited on September 11, 2007 at 12:40 AM. Reason : /]

That cop reminds me of when ditka sang "take me out to the ballgame" at wrigley field

I'm going to laugh when this all turns out to be fake. (I don't think it is, but it'd be funny)Anyways, there is no excuse for the cops actions. However, this guy did use his right turn signal to make a left turn. In all seriousness though, random ass dude driving around at night with a police scanner....slightly suspicious...again like I said, this kind of behavior should not be tolerated by cops. However, that shouldn't give John Q. Public reason to go around antagonizing cops to try to provoke reactions.[Edited on September 11, 2007 at 12:58 AM. Reason : a]
