don't know if anyone is interested, but I saw this posted on packpride. Thought about Tech Talk, but figured it would get more traffic here. Please move if it should be somewhere else.http://forums.scout.com/mb.aspx?S=178&F=2531#s=178&f=2531&t=962119

they probably take a large percentage of ownership if you accomplish anything marginally successful.

This is legit. They did this last year and then canceled the contest because it's not worth the investment. And I don't think anyone actually submitted a viable idea. I'd planned to enter with robster, but it's an insane commitment for almost no payoff[Edited on September 10, 2007 at 2:47 PM. Reason : .]

I tried to visit their site today (http://www.myfirststartup.com/) and it is not working. When I read their forum the other day, they said if you win the prize, they will get a 50% stake in your company. That sounds a lot for 15K if your idea is great.

^It's a complete ripoff. There are plenty of small VC's you can get 20-25K of startup and only have to give up a 20% company stake, and they don't make you go at it competition style. It's no wonder no one entered this last year.
