Maybe we need an "***Official NC State QB Changes***" thread.
9/4/2007 4:34:55 PM
it's great that state has two stories on the front page of ESPN CFBit sucks it's about Brown being done for the year and us having to switch QBs
9/4/2007 4:35:32 PM
^^that's way too specific, I think this calls for an ***Official Sports, Entertainment, and Politics*** thread to be made in the lounge, shutting down ST, Entertainment, and The Soap BoxHopefully Beck will play well enough to keep TOB from changing his mind again[Edited on September 4, 2007 at 4:36 PM. i'm going apeshit worrying about whether or not beck is legit.
9/4/2007 5:17:02 PM
Beck is the answer to all of our hopes and dreams!
9/4/2007 6:26:48 PM
^ i think a lot of us are banking on it.
9/4/2007 6:33:33 PM
Davis Stone Evans Beck is the answer to all of our hopes and dreams!
9/4/2007 6:33:57 PM
To put it in perspective, Stone was the 33rd ranked QB comming out of high school. Beck was the 11th ranked QB comming out of high school. There's room for some optomism there
9/4/2007 6:35:57 PM
^^ lol right on man![Edited on September 4, 2007 at 6:36 PM. Reason : ^]
9/4/2007 6:36:11 PM
what was rivers ranked?
9/4/2007 6:41:03 PM
i thought rivers was a TE when he came out of high school
9/4/2007 6:43:50 PM
if you rearrange the letters of his name you can spellSHOCK BERRIANberrian is a wide receiver for the Bearsergo, Beck is going to save the universe from total annihilation
9/4/2007 6:43:58 PM
9/4/2007 6:45:47 PM
It's interesting to look back at some of the star rankings:Hoyte: 2*Manny: 2*McCargo: 2*TJ Williams: 2*Derek Morris: 5*Tank: 3*Anthony Hill: 2*
9/4/2007 6:48:43 PM
9/4/2007 7:07:47 PM
Davis looked nasty in his first start, against Richmond.I think it gave a lot of us false, drunken hopes.
9/4/2007 7:09:30 PM
I don't understand how it seems like every other team can get a QB who can stay calm but we can't.
9/4/2007 8:00:21 PM
^ worry not, beck for heisman.i think i'll get shirts made.
9/4/2007 8:01:17 PM
Jay Davis was the only QB to throw for 300 yards against Virginia Tech two years ago in our opener....I still say that our QBs are not THAT bad. It has just been a combination of terrible o-lines, bad coaching, and bad playcalling.[Edited on September 4, 2007 at 8:17 PM. Reason : V It was against Virginia Tech]
9/4/2007 8:09:54 PM
we were playing Richmond. enough said.
9/4/2007 8:15:40 PM
I MEAN, if beck played the whole game we would've won 42-0!!!just sayin', beck for heisman.
9/4/2007 8:27:56 PM
but you've still got to give them 7 points for that opening drive
9/4/2007 8:32:46 PM
hmm, logic is logic.42-7 w/ beck starting.
9/4/2007 8:37:29 PM
HEY YALLZ TURN TO CHANNEL 50...APPUHLACHIN IZ BEETIN MICHIGAN 28-14
9/4/2007 8:43:04 PM
i hope Beck does well but rememberEvans did a bang up job his first chance and even did well enough to pull out a win against FSUthen went 0-8 sooooooo i think you guys know where im going with thisdont get your hopes up too much...we should all be realists
9/5/2007 9:16:10 AM
^ no way, didn't even cross my mind.
9/5/2007 10:01:57 AM
9/5/2007 10:06:30 AM
nah, russell wilson or mike glennon before burke.
9/5/2007 10:07:49 AM
What's the one constant in all our failed QB play? O Line.Until we get a consistent O Line that can protect the QB and give him some time, we'll struggle. But having a more mobile QB always helps out with that...
9/5/2007 12:19:41 PM
^Yep.It's not the QB's faults. Evans isnt bad, Davis wasn't bad.It just HAPPENED we started off the Amato years with a fucking superstar, cool under pressure, talent like Philip Rivers. He was so fucking calm and collected, no one noticed how fucking terrible our offensive line has been for the last 8 years, particularly in pass protection. That said, Beck for heisman
9/5/2007 12:27:02 PM
NEED MORE OFFENSIVE LINE BETTER PRODUCTION PROTECT NOT SHITTY
9/5/2007 12:43:57 PM
way to hit the key points
9/5/2007 12:48:48 PM
9/5/2007 1:23:00 PM
You could have just said we had a good O Line in 2002.[Edited on September 5, 2007 at 1:37 PM. Reason : .]
9/5/2007 1:36:32 PM
9/5/2007 1:37:45 PM
^ i can't believe you even went there. I've met Kiker, he's a really good guy but jesus christ keep him away from our football team
9/5/2007 2:08:06 PM
9/5/2007 4:00:21 PM
Hey Noen....Ive been saying that for years now:
9/5/2007 4:03:13 PM
stone sucked pretty bad
9/5/2007 4:21:45 PM
Screw Beck for Heisman shirts
9/5/2007 4:23:58 PM
9/5/2007 4:26:12 PM
beck to remain starter.good move we need stability.sutton III starting over NealDeJuan Morgan moved to 2nd string.[Edited on September 11, 2007 at 12:11 AM. Reason : r]
9/10/2007 11:52:26 PM
Am I the only one that thinks Brown is moving slower than last year?
9/11/2007 8:20:02 AM
That's becuase he has 2 guys hanging on him from the time he touches the ball.
9/11/2007 8:29:48 AM
http://www.newsobserver.com/sports/college/ncsu/story/699896.htmlInteresting tidbit:
9/11/2007 9:25:37 AM
I know he threw a metric shit-tonne of picks, but does anyone else REALLY like Beck?I mean he obviously has the physical tools, both the arm and the legs, to be a big-time QB. Plus he just has that winning attitude. He WANTS the ball. He WANTS the pressure. I love that in a QB.I'd much rather have a QB that needs to "dial it down" than a QB who simply has no upside. He may never progress enough to become a D1 quality QB, but I sure like the potential.
9/11/2007 10:56:51 AM
I noticed that most of his deep balls were way overthrown. How hard is it to get more accurate deep throws?
9/11/2007 11:07:49 AM
^^I like him as the best option at QB right now. I think with experience, he can be REALLY good. I think it may be a rough few games with him learning, but in the long run, it'll be the right choice.^I noticed that too, but I'd rather them be overthrown than under thrown and picked off. I would imagine that the farther you throw it, the less precise you're going to be. Most of them were catchable had the receiver been a little quicker or had a little more time to get there.
