I know its Hawaii and their QBs always put up gawdy stats, but Brennan is by far the best QB they have had, and even though they are playing against a IAA shit team, 416yds in a half is just ridiculous. What is the NCAA record for passing yds in a game? Does anyone know?

pretty sure David Klinger had 700 something
9/2/2007 1:40:52 AM
timmy chang

Hawaii and TT have had a 90% passing offense for the last 10 years, but Brennan's numbers are still amazing
9/2/2007 1:46:21 AM
I know that, but Brennan is the first real QB they have had it seems. None of their other QBs have had serious Heisman consideration. I see nothing wrong with passing that much if the QBs you have make it work. And it seems to be working, UH has been getting better and better every year. If he were to come out and really ball it out in the 2nd half, it COULD be possible to pass for 1000yds, highly unlikely, but god damn, that would just be nuts.

and if their coach was willing to out-spurrier the ol' ball coach, then maybe, just MAYBE he could do it.then again, june jones isn't using the PS3 to coach this game, so it won't happen.
9/2/2007 1:56:50 AM
Hawaii has only attempted 4 rushes and 3 are by Brennan!!FUCK BALANCE!!
9/2/2007 2:04:59 AM
The other rush is from the back up QB
9/2/2007 2:13:09 AM
haha, do they even have a RB in the game?
9/2/2007 2:13:38 AM
do they need one?
9/2/2007 2:17:26 AM
He didn't even play the 2nd half, not that I blame Jones for keeping him out. He is just way too valuable.

They will go undefeated and if teams like michigan keep losing to teams like app st. then maybe they will squeeze into the BCS

wasnt it cliff klingsbury or something from texas tech with the record for most yards in a game?
9/2/2007 1:40:02 PM
im pretty sure its David Klingler, houston, like 1989 or 1990 when all he did was throw to andre ware over and over
9/2/2007 2:33:37 PM
716 David Klingler, Houston vs. Arizona St., 1990.They had 16 yards of rushing that game.
9/2/2007 2:54:18 PM
Klingler threw for 716 vs. Arizona State in 1990.as an aside, why the fuck are college football records more difficult to find than other sports?
9/2/2007 2:56:23 PM
^^^ that's a long way to throw!!! considering Andre Ware was drafted in '89 after winning the Heisman trophy and was drafted by the Lions.Klingler would have to have had a 1100 mile arm. i don't think Chuck Norris could throw the ball all the way from Houston to Detroit
9/2/2007 3:04:47 PM
and isn't Andre Ware a QB?
9/2/2007 3:48:12 PM

I want to see him play a better team before I say he is the best QB around.
9/2/2007 11:39:14 PM
ok well just wait forever then
9/2/2007 11:46:58 PM
I want to see him play some good teams. Honestly he throws for 400 yards vs a D2 school and everyone thinks he is god. I am sure that if we would play Campbell college football team Beck could have thrown for that many yards.
9/2/2007 11:52:45 PM
The run n' shoot is something we need to see more of in football. Screw balance.
9/4/2007 11:22:54 AM
he's no Ethan Silver
9/4/2007 11:24:29 AM
Klinger had the record until Ball State's QB broke it in my NCAA 08 Dynasty
