I'm sure God won't mind bowing his will to the communist leaders in China.

For all of you who are claiming to be confused, it's really not that confusing. China wants to lay claim to naming the next Dalai Lama. The Dalai Lama carries a huge amount of political and religious power in Tibet, and if they were able to pick the person that the Dalai Lama supposedly reincarnated into, then they could pick someone who would enforce the policies of PRC in Tibet.

I feel safe in saying that some Chinese law makers are coming back as pubic lice in the next life because of this.

^^ so why do they need to do something stupid like this?the Chinese gov't. has already disposed of the Pachen Lama who was identified by the monks, and replaced him with their own choice ... once the Dalai Lama dies, the Chinese-installed Pachen Lama will have political authority for the Tibetean people.[Edited on August 29, 2007 at 9:56 PM.
