8/24/2007 4:31:29 PM
What a fucking easy schedule. No OU or Texas. Fatgino will manage to screw this year up and will finally get fired. Also this thread is stupid and should be locked unless we can make it into a "look at how fat Mangino is" thread
8/24/2007 4:32:40 PM
Wait.Kansas has a football team?
8/24/2007 4:42:15 PM
^yeah, the state of Kansas has a football team. The Kansas State Wildcats
8/24/2007 5:03:40 PM
when kansas is good, i imagine it's probably a lot like when carolina football is good - minus guys like LT and Peppersa lot of people have interest for a short time during a brief run of success, but it's really still just time spent waiting for basketball season
8/24/2007 5:22:40 PM
holy crap their first six games are in Kansas....looks like prolly won't even get on a plane this year...
8/24/2007 5:24:20 PM
RockJockChicken HawkBOO KU!Gayhawks suck! GO Wildcats!
8/24/2007 5:26:48 PM

8/24/2007 5:37:00 PM
glad to see you picked them to lose to CU...CU is the sleeper of the big XII....and I don't know if they'll beat Toledo either. Those MAC teams play tough on the road
8/24/2007 5:38:02 PM
trash bin, fat fuck
8/24/2007 6:08:18 PM
im pretty sure CMU will beat them
8/24/2007 6:54:34 PM
well we are at it, why don't we just create a thread for every freaking D1-A school
8/24/2007 7:47:48 PM
yeah, this is getting pointless and [old]
8/24/2007 7:59:25 PM
simple solution, for colleges only, only allow threads of this type if you actually attended the school. Individual threads here and there for other schools, games, thats fine... but for these make it only if you actually went to the school
8/24/2007 8:13:16 PM
we've had the michigan one every yeari did it 3 out of the last 4 years

Haha Kansas is the last team we beat with Rivers when he threw for like 450 yards. What was the score of that game like 52-24???
8/24/2007 8:32:06 PM
how about it?
8/24/2007 8:35:46 PM
Those were good times.
8/24/2007 8:36:48 PM
i'll go out on a limb here and say that 99.9% of people that read sports talk give zero shits about kansas faghawks football. just my estimate.
8/24/2007 8:37:43 PM
There's an idea for a new poll...

markgoal must be making this as a joke. he starts the thread then disappears.
8/25/2007 3:43:11 AM
Well I wasn't on last night, but I did go to KU, I'll pull for them behind NCSU, and made this thread after all the other college team threads started popping up. I was shocked to see this near the top with 25 replies. When I lived in Lawrence, my apartment was about 1 block to the right of the stadium from this view, and I had to teach my neighbors tailgating NCSU style. When I was in Lawrence everyone sported the "Our coach is PHAT!" T Shirts, along with the occasional: "Jayhawk Football: Our coach could eat your coach"I'll also share the running joke:

Seeing that I live in Kansas, this game was a big deal this weekend. It was actually entertaining too. KU might (emphasis on might) actually be legit this year. Their schedule sets up very well for them to possibly win the Big XII north. Nebraska in Lawrence and Missouri at a neutral site.

10/14/2007 7:01:33 AM
wow, how did Kansas pull off this schedule? No Oklahoma, Texas or Texas Tech, the top 3 teams in the Big12.
10/14/2007 8:21:45 AM
First, I'm not sure that I agree with your premise. At this point in the season, Texas and Texas Tech have not yet established themselves as better than Kansas and Missouri (as strange as that sounds). Missouri has looked very strong, and gave Oklahoma a decent game. Kansas and Texas have had one common opponent, Kansas State. K State beat Texas in Austin 41-21, while Kansas beat K State 30-24 in Manhattan. The reality is that the Big 12 this year is very much up in the air, but it appears as though the Big 12 South is not as dominant this year over the North.Second, Kansas can end up without Texas, Oklahoma, and Texas Tech just like NCSU can end up without Virginia Tech or Miami. It is the nature of imbalanced scheduling inherent to 12 team conferences. Kansas has no control over which Big 12 South opponents they are assigned, but the nonconference schedule is obviously Dairy Queen, without a single BCS Conference opponent.[Edited on October 14, 2007 at 10:20 AM. Congrats to John Riggins for being inducted into the Jayhawk ring of honor! It's only about 20 years late!
10/14/2007 10:47:33 AM
6-0 now and 13th in the BCS polls. One of the computer even had them at #1, all of the other computers had them at 20ish. I think they need to recalibrate that one computer. Honestly I think that one calculation put too much emphasis on margin of victory and no emphasis on schedule strength.Honestly if NC State played this same schedule, we would probably be 4-2 or 5-1. Toledo/Baylor might beat us and KSU would stomp us, but either way, this team is getting too much hype right now.
10/15/2007 1:45:39 PM
Can't believe this thread hasn't gotten more attention.Started as a joke, now they are 9-0 and looking at a BCS bowl.WTF?
11/8/2007 4:22:58 AM
they will go down sat. night to the cowboys
11/8/2007 8:11:12 AM
kansas v missouri will probably be the only big 12 game i watch this year
11/8/2007 8:17:02 AM
ok now this thread is just kinda creepy
11/8/2007 10:16:20 AM
As long at they don't look past what could be a sneaky game against OK State in Stillwater, we could be looking at a Kansas-Missouri game with BCS implications.
11/8/2007 10:18:52 AM
its a little known fact but Kansas-Missouri game was the first to introduce homecoming to college football.
