I am in need of children volunteers three times this semester for assessments (grad school class). i only really need two children to complete 3 assessments, but backups are always good to have in case something happens. The children must be between the ages of 6 and 16 so if your children fit, or if you know of any children that fit that age group (and their parents are willing to sign a permission form) that would be great, as kids are hard to find in my area and I am in desperate need of at least two kids for testing!

Each test is strictly confidential and you as a parent will receive a parent summary (not an official document, but just some feedback). I will most likely administer the test over the weekend since I will be driving to Raleigh so the child must be available on Friday, Saturday or Sunday with the time ranging from 1 to 2 hours. I will make 3 separate trips to Raleigh and would hope the same child would be available for each time. I will also need to videotape one child during two of the three tests, but the camera will be more focused on me, as I will be the one graded on my competency.

I know the last thing a child wants to do is testing on the weekend and I don't have much to offer as I am a (broke!) graduate student, but you as parents are free to run errands while testing is going on and I can also offer something small, such as candy or an inexpensive toy, to the child.

The children must not be involved in any way in special education--meaning they should neither be currently receiving special education services nor should be involved in the referral process.

If anyone knows of anyone willing to participate, PLEASE let me know! Thanks so much.

are these developmental assessments (or are they screenings and not full blown assessments)?
