Are there any fondue places other than the melting pot in Raleigh?

Fondue is easy enough to do at home. All you need is a pot, a pointy stick, and some food.

I prefer beef broth based fondue for the main course. There are a ton of recipes for that out there. The Asian ones with a bit of soy sauce, garlic, ginger, and green onion are my favorite.

i think there are much better ways to spend $80-$100 on dinner than the melting pot. it is fun to do once though. Kanki (sp) out at the mall is one of my favorite places. For $100 you get a lot of food, entertainment, and super drunk off saki.

Ya I only go to "The Melting Pot" for desert. Their food kind of sucks IMO. You can do most of it home but the desert there is always nice and romantic for dates.

The best part about making it at home is you can load up on the types of food you like and not have to pay for any that you don't

Yea, me and my gf want to have a special dinner tonight, she was wanting to go to the melting pot, but i was kinda wanting something different, and new. So i was gonna try a new fondue place...But it doesn't look like thats a choice. Are there any great, unique places that you all recommend in Raleigh? I really don't know much about the restaurants here.

Find a good French restaurant like St. Jacques, Margaux's, or Bonne Soiree (all cost $Texas (~$100-$160 for 2) but have food like you wouldn't believe).

St. Jacques will rock your world. I've seen it listed as the #1 or #2 restaurant in the triangle twice this year. One of the best meals my wife and I have ever had (even better than Thomas Keller's Bouchon in Napa Valley). We both had French onion soup, she had the Crusted Sea Bass and Crab Mousse, I had Osso Buuco, and for dessert we shared some chocolate dish and Port Poached Figs with Goat Cheese Ice Cream (we both agree this is the greatest dessert we have ever had... totally blown away).

Enoteca Vin is probably the other best bet. Ashley Christensen is probably the hottest chef in the Triangle right now. We've only been here for the wine bar and appetizers a few times but the menu always looks good.

If you're not worried about price and like seafood Fins in North Raleigh is good. Definitely save room for dessert.

Enoteca Vin is definitely getting awesome reviews, but an old favorite of mine is Irregardless Cafe. My boyfriend and I went there for my birthday about two weeks ago and both had an amazing time. We both believe it to have been the best dining experience we've ever had.

Not in raleigh but I really like The Little Dipper in downtown Wilmington, and that isnt a bad weekend drive for a birthday, I think its better than the melting pot honestly...and the atmosphere is great

Fins moved to Downtown Raleigh a few months ago. I can't exactly remember where it is but its across the street from Cooper's Barbecue. But its got the best seafood in the city and the desserts are out of this world!

Also J Betski's is a great date place. German and Polish food FTW!
