went in marchrent a scooter and ride all over the island. It's like 40$ for all day or some shit. once you get out of town its all country side. On the way to the other side of the island you can swing by and see the mayan ruins (very cool and you see a lot of snakes and iguanas). keep going to the other side of the island for some awesome beaches and cool little bars.

I spent two days there over the summer when I was coming from Belize. It's way to touristy for me. The crap there is so overdone it's insane. I guess it all depends on what you are looking to do, but it's really only good for the diving. The diving and snorkeling is great, but that's about it. The ruins are tiny and expensive compared to other places in Central America. I'd even say go to Tulum nearby if you want ruins, although you'll have to take the ferry. The best thing about Cozumel is a little mini golf course they have there it's a few blocks away from the main area, can't exactly give you directions. It's the best mini golf course I've ever been on. You carry a little walkie talkie with you and can order drinks while on the course and they bring them, there's an aviary about halfway through with all these birds in a big cage, a guy brought us cold towels about halfway through, and the course itself puts those in the states to shame. It actually had rough and little sand traps as well.

I spent a day there, while on a cruise.I rented a scooter and rode around all day. Every time we saw a beach that looked nice we would stop and swim.I would definately want to go back.

went in April on a cruise. Was fun. I rented a scooter and we rode it along the coast to paradise beach? (i think thats what it was called) and spent the day there. the town was really nice for shopping, restaurants and your basic tourist stuff.

there are pictures of Cozumel and Playa del Carmen (40 minute ferry ride) in my gallerywe honeymooned in Playa del Carmen this June & day tripped to Cozumel twice. great for shopping & just walking around. great little bars on the beach where you can snorkel all day, get lunch, drink beer, hang out with locals. the scooters looked dangerous to me, so we didn't do that, but the taxis are very cheap and you are allowed to have open containers
