RIP to the greatest fantasy TD vulture of all timebut you could have just said "retire""retire pro career" sounds like it went thru a botched translation[Edited on August 9, 2007 at 1:32 PM. Reason : even tho you probably copy and pasted it anyway]

that dude was crazy difficult to tackleI'm sure J_Hova will be pissed but its another thing that should make the Panthers favorites in the division imohe didn't have the career stats of 16,000 yarsds in 16 seasons but this is kind of similar to Bettis retiring in Pittsburgh...you dont think you need him with Cadillac (Willie Parker) but he sure is nice to have on 3rd and short or goaline drives

I think J_Hova (he is a Buc fan, right?) will be glad. Alstott was a liability the past couple years[Edited on August 9, 2007 at 2:06 PM. Reason : c]

Good job to a great Boilermaker. Our best (or 2nd best to Drew Brees) player of the 1990s.I attended one game with him in it and Purdue was playing Michigan State. Our QB threw a screen pass to Alstott around midfield. He stopped and threw a 50-yard TD to the receiver right on the numbers. Not often you see a fullback do that.[Edited on August 9, 2007 at 3:00 PM. Reason : .]

^^i'm not arguing that most people would agree that either the Saints or Panthers would be the favorites, especially after the Vick thing, but Carolina is due

I feel like the Redskins play the Bucs (and have played the Bucs) an unreasonable amount of times for non-divison opponents.I feel like Alstott randomly has an important play or several touches that are just, well, frustrating as an opposing fan.I suppose that's a compliment.GOOD RIDDANCE.

kind of like when the panthers play the packers almost every year?
8/10/2007 12:18:58 AM
you guys are aware that the scheduling system in the NFL is completely set in stone and the teams dont get to pick their opponents at all, right?basically the quick version is:16 games:- 6 versus division opponents (3 home, 3 away)- 4 versus division in your conference (rotating...ie Panthers might play NFC East one year...next year NFC West...then NFC North...then back to East, etc) (2 home, 2 away)- 4 versus division in other conference (rotating...similar to previous item but 4 year cycle instead of 3 year cycle) (2 home, 2 away)- 2 teams in your conference based on last year's results...to put it simply, these two teams are based on last year's overall results...for example the Panthers play the Cowboys and Packers this year since I think they finished 2nd in their divisions or somethingjust an FYI for those who may not have knownAlthough I'll admit I'm not 100% sure what determines the final 2 but I know they're in your conference and it has to do with comparing either records or conferece finish orders based on last year...but its not like college where you can pick some opponents]
8/10/2007 12:26:19 AM
i'm completely aware of that...im just saying that it seems like we play the packers every year, and most of the time in prime time
8/10/2007 12:41:42 AM
The final two teams are the teams who finished in the same place as you the previous year in the two divisions other than the division you're scheduled againstSo this year the Panthers play the NFC West, so we play the two two teams from the East and North who finished in the same place in their division as we did, so the Packers and CowboysYou'd have to have Downs not to know that[Edited on August 10, 2007 at 1:15 AM.
