...So, you guys need to help me find a good, reliable bike that I can handle (5'2"... and as proven w/ the RR, I need to be able to touch atleast a little bit ). For my price range & reliability, lets say cruisers only, so height shouldn't be an issue... just weight. I'd love to get a sport bike, but the old stuff is just too damn heavy, and I don't have 5k to drop right now. Req.- 600cc + , ability to hold two people somewhat comfortably Pref. low mileage & <10years old, but for the right bike that has been treated well these can be ignoredBudget: $2500 - $2750here's what I'm going to look at tomorrow: http://raleigh.craigslist.org/mcy/385653950.htmlHaven't gotten through to this guy, but also an option: http://raleigh.craigslist.org/mcy/387985170.htmlIf you guys know of anything, or see something... please let me know! It's time to let the Rebel go!

I hear ya. Waiting to hear something on my lowball offer on this one. http://fortlauderdale.craigslist.org/mcy/385266485.html
8/3/2007 4:03:27 PM
that thing is sweet! Hope you get it!
8/3/2007 4:13:36 PM
for a second there i thought you were talking about the weight of yourself and not your bike hope u had a good birthday[Edited on August 3, 2007 at 4:49 PM. Reason : \/ you are very welcome but i wasnt trying to make it sound like you were fat btw]
8/3/2007 4:40:01 PM
^ umm... no, definitely referring to the bike. size & overall weight is one of the biggest reasons I've held onto the Rebel this long. Also, thx for the birthday wishes, dnl.
8/3/2007 4:45:45 PM
^^ Yeah, no shit right! 2-stroke dirtbikes are a blast around town.
8/3/2007 4:53:42 PM
http://raleigh.craigslist.org/mcy/387951321.htmlhow about this?
8/3/2007 4:55:13 PM
That'd be pretty sweet. Jamie on a beater bike. Awesome. (cruisers suck)
8/3/2007 4:58:26 PM
I'd be fine with that if we could get it running reliably & I felt comfortable on it (although I could lower that and not feel bad about it )
8/3/2007 5:27:40 PM
is it illegal for a woman to teach a man how to drive a motorcycle if the guy doesnt have a motorcycle license?like what if she had a driveway and she taught me? is that illegal?
8/3/2007 5:39:44 PM
wtf? no it's not illegal. they don't care who teaches you... as long as you're in a parking lot or driveway it shouldn't matter. (driveway won't be enough room to learn, though... imho) parking lots are much better than driveways. but if you want to learn, may as well go get your permit. it's not difficult, just read the manual before you go take the test.
8/3/2007 5:46:03 PM
hey...as a woman, does it feel about the same to ride a horse as it does to ride a bike?
8/3/2007 6:04:18 PM
no
8/3/2007 6:09:21 PM
seems like as a woman you'd still be sitting on this hard surface that goes up and down and is between your legs...just figured maybe it felt the same]
8/3/2007 6:11:00 PM
^ goddamn your creepy, why don't you go back to watching pornos like a good child[Edited on August 3, 2007 at 6:34 PM. Reason : .]
8/3/2007 6:14:57 PM
not even remotely the same. horses are much more broad and the sitting position is completely different. -now plz stop trying to make my thread inappropriate [Edited on August 3, 2007 at 6:32 PM. Reason : ]
8/3/2007 6:15:28 PM

8/3/2007 6:16:57 PM
^ twas on accident that I removed the I don't mind you posting... your question was viable. I answered it... just trying to keep it from going too far, k?
8/3/2007 6:33:54 PM

8/3/2007 6:47:01 PM
^ That's pretty sweet. I was looking at a blue one on craigslist earlier today... I'm not familiar with the Marauder, but I'll definitely keep it in mind. http://raleigh.craigslist.org/mcy/387743625.html <---**hotttttness!**
8/3/2007 9:00:49 PM
the marauder is an excellent bike
8/3/2007 10:17:31 PM
So, I went and tried out the Silver Savage this morning-- way too tame to be considered a decent upgrade. Also too small- if I'm upgrading I want something worth upgrading to! That being the case, I'm also thinking something more standard style. Gonna look at a GS500F this evening hopefully. I enjoyed riding Danny's naked GS... so, at the very least I could strip it of its front fairings.
8/4/2007 5:07:05 PM
i would really reccomend at lest trying an intruder
8/4/2007 5:43:09 PM
I liked the GS I looked at today... but it's over priced and has bent handle bars Ugh. Looking for a bike is always so frustrating!
8/4/2007 7:43:09 PM
http://raleigh.craigslist.org/mcy/390421930.htmlyou should go with this...a little outside your price range but it is a nice upgrade!
8/6/2007 11:18:02 AM
^ yes!!!, average retail is around 3,500, low 2,700 i'd offer him about 2,500 and go from there, no more than 3,000you gotta at least test ride one, they are great bikes, light and fairly powerful, and would fit your size perfectly
8/6/2007 11:32:24 AM
looking again tonight---- gotta stop getting my hopes up, though!

8/6/2007 6:25:11 PM
made an offer-- find out tomorrow if I get it....
8/6/2007 8:59:42 PM
I got shot down on my offer with the old dualsport. Dammit. Bastard is putting it on ebay.
8/6/2007 9:07:26 PM
^ Awww I'm sorry, Ed! Dunno what's going on w/ my offer just yet... & the bike I made an offer on will need a considerable bike TLC overhaul to be rideable, but it's still pretty hot... so I think it would be worth it. Hopefully the guy moving next week will be enough to push him to sell it to me, although I made a very reasonable offer per my calculations
8/7/2007 12:52:19 PM
Eh, it's alright. I lowballed the shit out of it. Nobody local wants to buy it so I thought he would bite. No telling what he'll get for it on ebay. Probably a shitload more than I offered. There's quite a few people that are buying up these old 2-strokers.
8/7/2007 12:56:32 PM
^^ what bike did you make an offer on?
8/7/2007 1:09:52 PM
an SV650...[Edited on August 7, 2007 at 1:18 PM. Reason : I know, I know... the 'girly' bike...][Edited on August 7, 2007 at 1:21 PM. Reason : pic]

8/7/2007 2:09:09 PM

8/7/2007 2:15:26 PM
^gg
8/7/2007 2:33:42 PM
danny mentioned that it looked like kyle's old bike ... but oh well.
8/7/2007 2:42:54 PM
then stay the fuck away from that deathtrap, no tellin what kinda nigger rigging is on there
8/7/2007 2:47:02 PM
The bike has only had two owners... the guy i'm buying it from got it back in '04. Kyle wouldn't have bought one new in '01... so, it's just the fact that it looks like his... it isn't actually his old bike.[Edited on August 7, 2007 at 2:52 PM. Reason : whatever... I have to go back to work]
8/7/2007 2:50:45 PM
yeah, no way he would ever ride anything but a used pos thats been dropped 14 times
8/7/2007 2:52:50 PM
oh, don't get her wrong...is't a piece....but it's also cheeeeeaaaaaap....if we get it

8/8/2007 11:52:22 AM
sweet, i expect to see you doing whellies on dan allen after lunch and when you get ready to get parts for it, hit me up, i have the hookup at cost for most of that stuff
8/8/2007 11:53:46 AM
You get the SV?
8/8/2007 11:56:20 AM
SV's in the garage now YAY! Sounds so much more badass than the Rebel. I've gotta atleast get a new front tire before I try anything on it, though... haha... I'm surprised it even made it here [Edited on August 8, 2007 at 1:27 PM. Reason : ^^ sweet deal. thx.]
8/8/2007 1:25:37 PM
OK. I just had to post again because I'm so freakin ecstatic about this bike... no shit... Alright, enough posting in my own thread... now it's time to make it rideable! Shooting for the weekend, but gotta find some used rotors first... damn shipping time! Maybe I could just do the rear rotor for now?
8/8/2007 1:39:10 PM
Who needs rear brakes!I know where you can get some rotors for free, take a few minutes, they are located on Kaplan Drive, http://www.kneedraggers.com/details/EBC_Pro-Lite_Contour_Brake_Rotors_Suzuki_SV650_Rear_Brake_Rotors_CO1148_CLEARANCE--621276.html[Edited on August 8, 2007 at 1:45 PM.
