You must have inadvertently hit the Turbo button. Make sure it is in the "off" position.

You probably have your sound card set to the wrong sampling rate.or it's the turbo button

Yeah my last 486 had a turbo button. Went from like 35mhz to 55mhz or something like that. It's in the attic somewhere.
