Question.Do up-converting DVD players remove the letterbox effect of widescreen dvds?for instance.. picture this scenario I have a 16:9 plasma.A standard "off brand DVD player" connected with Red white & yellow RGB cable, & a "Widescreen Version" of lets say... King Kong. The picture is letterboxed within an already 16:9 screen. so its even thinner? Now lets say i have an Upconverting, progressive scan Standard DVD player.. again with the "widescreen version" of King Kong. Will the image still be Letterboxed within my 16:9 tv?or will the upconverting DVD player "zoom" into the picture, making it fill the entire screen? If it actually removes the letterbox effect, i will buy it.

why people think that a 30 dollar dvd player is going ot do a better job at upconverting than their 2k tv is beyond me.
