i have a .exe that was sent to me that is nothing more than a slideshow of pictures with music - i need to extract the pictures but do not know the program that it was made with nor can i ask the creatorany idea on how to extract the images or at least figure out what program was used to create the exe with hopes that the same program can extra the imagesit's 154mbwhen you open the file - it goes to the first picture - a title shows up - it shows page 1-5 while the title appears - the music starts - there are transitions between each picture - the pictures have a red title or the image namethat's about all i have right now i think

Trying feeding the .exe to a resource editor that will isolate all the elements. In this case, the .exe is probably just acting as a container. When I get home, I'll send you the link for the one I use.

opened with ResHack but doesn't look like anything usable

its likely either a powerpoint EXE slideshow, or a package Flash projector file.

any idea of how to extract from either or those? i imagine opening it up in powerpoint doesn't work...this did come from a professional photographer that does his own photo editing/touchups in-house and is very versed in photoshop and probably other applications that someone in that business would use

if it came from a Pro, it very well could be a commercial product that is encrypting the data to prevent people from ripping off the images easily

yeah but there is always a way i don't want to have to printscreen every picture ]

It's called buy the wedding package
7/16/2007 6:02:46 PM
her parents spent way too much money on the wedding package already - and he sent this so that we can select which pictures we want since we live out of town and whatnot - the same cd was sent to both parents - i really wasn't expecting to get a cd though so wasn't planning on this - he sent a cd and a book of thumbnails to select pictures for the album he puts together - now that i have it in front of me it's hard to not justify spending some time figuring out how to get the photos - i can't imagine with the number of pictures on the cd that the pictures are higher resolution than something like 1600x1200 but still ]

They will be.Most wedding photographers use at LEAST a 10mp camera. And as much as it seems like it was already "so expensive", most photographers barely cover their cost with the onsite charges, they make their livings from the packages. And knowing quite a few wedding photographers, they spend a lot of time making sure people can't do what you are trying to Only chance you might have is to hex edit the program or look at it in the windows Properties and see if it lists a company/developer, then trying someplace like neworder.box.sk to see if anyone has hacked it.

isn't noen very outspoken against stealing mp3's? and now he is giving advice on how to rip of a photographer... nice
7/16/2007 6:56:03 PM
i'm not trying to rip off the photographer - we have ordered the package through him already - both of our parents are ordering other prints - they are also available online in case anyone else wants to order individual pictures - he won't let anyone have a digital copy of the pictures - i don't want a copy large enough to make prints from - it's just easier to have everything digital for sharing amongst family and whatnot - the wife is even making me wait until people have had enough time to order from him before i share them also because she's against it
