what do you guys use to copy movies? i have one that is scratched a bit and not playing so well, so i want to try to make a backup so i don't have to purchase a new copy. i tried with the software on my computer but it says it's a "protected source" so i can't copy it. is there a way around this?

Clone DVD in conjunction with AnyDVD . Clone DVD does the ripping/burning, any dvd simply removes the copy protection from any disc type media.

ripit4me + dvd decrypter + fixVTS + dvdshrink = FTW

otherwise, DVDFab HD Decrypter (also free): http://www.dvdfab.com/free.htm

I use DVDShrink to rip it, and DVD Decrypter to burn it.
