yeah i wasnt a serious fan back in the day, then they turned all RIAA on us and i started hating... but the more i listen now i see how much they really fuckin rock... plus a good friend of mine works with them when they tour.... anyhow point me to more unrealized metallica golden nuggets please...

my favorite metallica song is "human" off the S&M album

Don't know how familiar you are with their catalogue but definately check out the older stuff. A few great ones that are not played often are Orion, To Live is to Die, and Four Horsemen. There is really too many to name though.

Just about anything on Ride the Lightning.Damn that is an awesome album.Master of Puppets is great too.
7/13/2007 9:02:32 AM
^ those were their best two albums in my opinion. but i still listen to em all
7/13/2007 9:36:16 AM
Ride the Lightning and Master of Puppets are the 2 most popular albums among most hardcore Metallica fans. But for my money you can't beat the speed and "rawness" (if that's a word) of Kill 'Em All.

James Hetfield is tall (and I am short)He also got stopped recently at an airport because they thought he was a terrorist, lol

I'm with elgimpy...I love Kill Em All. All the albums up to And Justice For All are really good.

There are a couple of songs on youtube that are supposedly going to be on their next album.http://youtube.com/watch?v=snPAOzp2YOAhttp://youtube.com/watch?v=H1CCiwd6UZsThere are other "vidoes" of these songs on youtube with better audio quality, I just linked the ones with live footage rather than the ones with better audio but with still photos.I guess if you like the direction they took with St. Anger then you'll probably like them. I don't really care for them though. I was hoping they might have a better album for us after a disappointing St. Anger, but I'm not really looking forward to the new album.[Edited on July 13, 2007 at 1:18 PM. Reason : -]

I saw them play with Godsmack in 2004."One" live kicked so much fucking ass.
7/13/2007 1:23:57 PM
From what they have been saying they are definately moving away from St. Anger. Not sure where they are going but we'll see. I know the new one will have solos in it and Lars' drums will not be tuned like they were in St. Anger. That is already a big step.

^^ I was at that Charlotte date...I'm not a big fan of the stage in the middle, but other than that, awesome show^^^Of the 2 new songs I kind of like "the other new song", but don't love the "new song". Although everything I've been reading seems to be saying the new album is supposed to be very reminiscent of Master of Puppets, these 2 songs definitely remind me a lot of St. Anger[Edited on July 13, 2007 at 1:30 PM. Yeah, I agree. Both those songs fit with St. Anger more than any other album. ^^That's why I find it hard to believe that it will be a significant departure from St. Anger. Not necessarily related to the new album but I've seen it with other albums and with other bands...You know a metal band's album is going to suck when the band members are trying to hype it up by saying things like "heaviest album since..." or some similar variant.[Edited on July 13, 2007 at 1:36 PM. They have also said that those songs will not be on the new album. They said that some parts may be use though. But I do agree that those were not a big departure from St. Anger and am glad they have chosen not to use them.

saw them on both those summer sanitarium tours...2000 and 2004 maybe?the first one was in rockingham at the track, it was quite awesome since there a was lightning and thunderstorm while they played...second time was in dc at fedex field, good as well
7/13/2007 1:59:23 PM
^^ how did i know you would post in here
7/13/2007 2:02:39 PM
Yeah I was at Rockingham too. That shit was crazy. It was also rediculously loud, even when I went to the back. My ears rang for days^Ha, whats up brad[Edited on July 13, 2007 at 2:05 PM. Reason : ^]
7/13/2007 2:02:51 PM
Rockingham definitely kicked ass with the thunderstorm going on...Metallica on stage with lightning ripping down right behind them will defintiely stay with me for a while[Edited on July 13, 2007 at 2:29 PM. Reason : a]

i like to pop in the Last Caress/Green Hell covers when i'm feelin frisky at work
7/13/2007 5:02:12 PM
it isnt that the newer stuff is horrible shit, it just isnt metallica. dont get me wrong, it aint great, but shrug. im also not getting the whole "hardness" from either of the new songs. all of this stuff is more of a classic metal style than the true thrash we wish it were.
7/13/2007 6:25:56 PM
There were a couple of songs on St Anger that I would have really liked if the drums didn't sound like shit.My two favorite albums are Master of Puppets and the Black album.
7/13/2007 6:32:43 PM
same. i dunno i never got into most of ride the lightning.
7/13/2007 6:50:16 PM
"And Justice for All" and "Master of Puppets" are the albums for me. However, Unforgiven is my favorite song from them.
7/13/2007 7:38:10 PM
if it ain't the first 5 albums it aint crapand justice for all lived in my cd player for a few months
7/13/2007 7:41:29 PM
aha yeah...i rocked the tape mowing the lawn one summer straight
7/13/2007 7:53:07 PM
QuestionIm a metallica noob but I really want to know the name of the song with sabotage/sabotruer or whatever the fuck lyric it is in it. That song is fantastic beyond all means.
7/13/2007 9:13:41 PM
well, from the looks of it. motorbreath. im sure google could confirm such guesses eh.
7/13/2007 9:15:23 PM
Metallica died for me after ...And Justice For All
7/13/2007 10:20:12 PM
i remember when i was a freshman in high school and the black album came outand my friend drew prophetically said "God help us the day we consider this album 'classic metallica'
