Why did this show end? One of the best ever!!! I have been watching reruns on HDNET.
7/11/2007 10:44:53 PM
yea pretty much one of the most well written and well acted comedies ive watched on TV in a long time, at least i have the dvds :/
7/11/2007 10:45:56 PM
I've been watching those reruns too, though I think they just started them completely over in Season One, if anyone wants to start taping them. I heart this show.[Edited on July 11, 2007 at 10:51 PM. Reason : oh, and /message_topic.aspx?topic=424731 for the quotation thread]
7/11/2007 10:50:41 PM
suffered from "better watched on dvd without commercial or weeklong breaks" syndrome
7/11/2007 10:53:48 PM
It's so good that even though I have all the DVDs I will watch it on HDnet or G4 when its on.This thread makes me sad though, I was hoping it was the old thread resurrected to say that they're working on a movie.[Edited on July 12, 2007 at 10:47 AM. Reason : .]
7/12/2007 10:46:45 AM
I tried to resurrect two different ones and they were dead.
7/12/2007 11:50:13 AM
I'M A MONSTER !!!! A MONSTER !!!! (should me watched on DVDs for full effect, I think the show sucks in TV format)
7/12/2007 10:46:49 PM
Should be watched in HD for full effect. The show got pretty stupid in season 3, it was time to kill it. That said, all of the actors were great, and it's been good to watch them go on to greater things.
7/12/2007 11:02:30 PM
Buster losing his hand felt like a serious "jump the shark" moment, but I still enjoyed the third season.
7/12/2007 11:12:31 PM
^ LOL
7/12/2007 11:40:27 PM
season one 13 dollars at Circuit City this week
7/13/2007 12:19:55 AM
Buster is my favorite!!!!
7/13/2007 1:28:40 AM
^^ Wow that is a steal. ^ And it's obvious that GOB is the best on the show, I mean COME ON!
7/13/2007 2:40:10 AM
yeah this show is awesome. i don't know how i missed it when it was actually a new show. sucks that they canceled it, it's clearly one of the best comedies in a long time.
7/13/2007 7:43:23 AM
^^ My vote would definitely go to Tobias, falling closely behind by GOB
7/13/2007 8:10:38 AM
^^ My feelings exactly. I've been watching it on G4, and can't believe I didn't watch it while it was on

Franklin Comes Alive is the funniest fictional album of all time!
7/13/2007 1:46:13 PM
^^ hahaha. yea each character is so unique its hard to decide on a favorite but Tobias definitely had plenty of amazingly awkward moments that i loved
7/13/2007 1:50:14 PM
GOB, hands down.
7/13/2007 3:22:02 PM
cousin-loving fun or not ?"the holidays"boy fight music
7/13/2007 4:29:53 PM
The mother always made me laugh the most.FYI: The hot blonde sister is Ellen Degeneres' significant other. I cried a little when I heard that, then got a little turned on.
7/13/2007 4:31:19 PM
I think the fact that Buster is so wimpy and pathetic is what makes me laugh!!I like how they kept the character Steve Holt [I think that is his name] a running gag through all the seasons.
7/13/2007 5:37:57 PM
STEVE HOLT!
7/13/2007 5:38:42 PM
gob is definitely my favorite character, and i think tobias gets the nod for 2nd favorite.i just loved all of tobias' inadvertent innuendos. Tobias Funke: Analrapist[Edited on July 13, 2007 at 5:43 PM. Reason : ]

George-Michael is my favorite character on the show and maybe my favorite television character of all time.
7/13/2007 5:45:36 PM
have you watched his clark and michael web episodes?http://www.clarkandmichael.comi watched those yesterday, some of em are pretty funny. not to mention cameos from our friends buster and tobias.[Edited on July 13, 2007 at 5:47 PM. Reason : ]

7/13/2007 6:42:41 PM
there's a huge thread about this in chit chatbut yes, best show everbut still, where'd the lighter fluid come from?

7/13/2007 9:07:04 PM
And that's why you don't respond to a thread about Arrested Development.
7/13/2007 10:35:52 PM
btw, I'd like to get the mp3 for the "boy fight music"you know whenever they fight that latin music starts playing, then later we learn it is fromsome video of them fighting as boys that the dad sold in Mexico for $$$.I spent an hour trying to find it one day, but sadly there is another "Arrested Developement" which makes searching very hard.Anybody else know what I'm talking about?

the first two seasons were, imo, the best two seasons ever on television.season three was weak, and they would've ruined the show if they had kept going. imo.
7/13/2007 11:10:00 PM
no waywith the same writers and cast there's no way it would have been bad
7/14/2007 12:05:17 AM
^^^ Yeah, that was the best song. The only song on the-op is "Big Yellow Joint".There was an episode in the 3rd season where they can't decide which stock song to play. They play all 6 or so royalty-free songs from the show before the narrator says "Okay, we don't have any music that will make this interesting."Here's the list I remember from the show:"The Final Countdown" (GOB's magic show music)The spanish brotherfight music"It ain't easy being white, it ain't easy being brown...""Big Yellow Joint"The soap opera music with drums(Doctor: I'm sorry. We lost him...)The father-son feel good music(it was just some light guitar rock before "Next Time on Arrested Development")[Edited on July 14, 2007 at 12:19 AM. Reason : "Cry Love" by John Hiatt]

I'd like to find that music they played from the Charlie Brown Christmas special when someone was sad.

7/14/2007 1:37:15 AM
I think the 3rd season was worse mostly because they all knew damn well the show was going to be cancelled and wouldn't last for a full season--which it didn't. I mean, they knew that way early in season 2 when they didn't even get a full 22 episodes out of season 2. At that point, a lot of the writing was giving out mixed vibes where half the time they were really fighting to do well and be funny, and the other half of the time they just didn't give a shit, knew the ship was going down, and wanted to make as many self-referential jabs at their impending doom as possible. Some of those jabs were hilarious, but others just didn't work.

i don't care for gob
7/14/2007 3:16:08 AM
you rubes"I don't care for Gob" is a quote from the show. in the pilot episode where the mother is drunk. It's also the name of the multiple page thread in chit chat.
7/14/2007 3:28:20 AM
Michael, you are my second least favorite child.
7/14/2007 3:30:05 AM

"I really wanted to keep the house for one more season.."- Saddam look-alike.
7/14/2007 4:18:08 AM
Add that the show still comes on G4 AND HDnet. One of my favorite subcharacters was "Gene Permesan", the detective who kept popping up in disguise (usually scaring Lucille). I beleive he is in the episodes where they leave Anne in Mexico and Lindsey is trying to fuck the bounty hunter.
7/14/2007 8:32:56 AM
i think G4 stopped running it. it used to be on every day at 230 and 1130, now i never see it on their schedule
7/14/2007 9:40:20 AM
Bob Loblaw is my favorite recuring character.
