If the bank or the merchant screws up and their mistake ends up benefitting you... are you legally liable in anyway? For example, if the item price is $2, and they charged you $1 for it.

if you cash a check and they give you extra by mistake, and if you don't return it they take it from your bank account.

I had a deposit for over a hundred bucks post twice.

Gotta be careful though...I think I've had a deposit post twice before, so I sat for a little while wondering if it would stick or not, and a week or so later someone noticed and the duplicate was canceled.

how about when you are buyin beer at the food lion and you forget to get it from under your cart and they reuse ur cart and you don't have to pay for it, should they be allowed to get mad if you don't return the beer?

^ wait...what? Is the beer free? Did you pay for it? Did you steal it? Your post makes no sense. The double posted deposit happened 4 years ago.

long time ago in myrtle beach an ATM was giving out $50's instead of $20's.....went to take out $60 and ended up with $150.Several other friends did it after me and also got them. Then it just went back to $20's again

if you are at a store and they charge you the wrong amount, like an item is $60 and they charge you $30, then you are not liable. Places like Walmart and grocery stores are supposed to give you an item for the price listed on the shelf near the item, they get into trouble when someone comes in a inspects them if prices are wrong. So if you bought a DVD player which was under a $20 sign and you get to the register and they try to charge you $50, the store is supposed to give you the item for $20. If you switch the price tag to get the item cheaper, that is a crime in NC.
