ok so we have a wireless network in our house. yesterday we had a storm and my comp restarted. usually when I restart my computer I would have to go into the properties of my usb network adapter and restore them to default to get it to connect. now when I do that it doesn't work. so I uninstalled the drivers and unplugged the adapter. when I plugged the adapter back in and attempted to reinstall the drivers, I got the blue screen of death. I did a system restore, and the same thing happened. I even tried it in safe mode and I still got the blue screen of death when I plugged it in. Any ideas on why it would be doing this and what I can do to fix it?

ok sweet, just when I figure out what the original problem is, my computer is so fucked up that when I turn it on the screen is completely black. And yes, the monitor is on. It flashes the Dell startup screen and then goes black. I tried hitting f8 to get it into safemode but it won't let me.

if you can see the dell screen at least its not completely screwedyou next move is boot up with the OS cd, go into repair console and typefixboot [enter]fixmbr [enter]thats what i'd do,

Yeah I had to boot it with the CD to get it to work. And then I found a new driver for my wireless adapter and after about 10 failed install attempts I put it in safe mode and installed it and it seems to work for now. Thanks for the input though.
