looking for something reasonable. something that maybe one person toss in the water. mainly going to use it to boat around in the sound and go fishing. any opinions/ideas/debates are welcome.ive been on the search for a long time for one of these suckers. Carolina Beach has a few but they look like rust buckets. is that what they are suppose to look like?
7/2/2007 2:58:26 PM
something like that.doesnt have to be big. the sound is No Wake zone so im not really worried about it being too small for tipping over.
7/2/2007 3:00:02 PM
You'll want something bigger than that for the sound. You'll tip over. Maybe something with Chevy poWR.
7/2/2007 4:24:10 PM
you want a kayak i think
7/2/2007 9:21:15 PM
naw y0. the sound is as calm as a big block chevy's cam
7/2/2007 11:59:28 PM
you need a 14 footer with a 9.9 johnson
7/3/2007 9:40:26 AM
listen, we are talkin bout boats.aint no one got a 9.9 johnson around here... aaaaaaaaaaight.prices people...?
7/3/2007 10:44:03 AM
wtf are you gonan do w/ a boat that little? photograph ducks? lol
7/3/2007 10:46:52 AM
I concur on the 14 foot duracraft with a 8 or 10 hp motor. It would suffice if you stuck to calm waters.I have a 21 foot Trophy and my brother has a 22 foot skiff. The damn skiff will beat the butter out of a biscuit in a moderate (1-2 foot) chop in the sound. Any type of boat you could carry I would stick to the back creeks and flats on.
7/3/2007 11:44:13 AM
these waters are real calm. except when idiots cruise too fast in the sound. they have posted no wake zones. i want it for some simple fishing. 14 foot is up in the air. i wanna check some out. hell if i can get something a bit bigger then two people can carry it, thats not a prob. my parents already have a boat. its a crownline, dont know the specs, its too bulky to just creep and throw in and out of the water.
7/3/2007 12:08:22 PM
7/3/2007 12:13:58 PM
i have a 10footer you can have for free. i've already cleaned it up with aluminum brightener. all you'll have to do to it is either re-rivet it or weld the existing rivets. not sure which ones leak but some do. i was just going to do all of them but i know i ain't never gonna mess with that damn thing.
7/3/2007 8:59:53 PM
hmmm.. i appreciate the offer.. but im kinda skurred with a leaking boat. haha. if all else fails, ill come after it and nigerig it up
7/3/2007 9:29:37 PM
^ yea , that negroe loves some ol broken shit
7/3/2007 10:44:27 PM

7/4/2007 10:44:21 AM

7/5/2007 9:00:15 PM

7/6/2007 9:14:14 AM
get an old school sears & roebuck jon boat [Edited on July 8, 2007 at 1:44 PM. Reason : psi]
7/6/2007 9:15:21 AM
i need to go see some in person so i know how long/wide they are. i think my choices are gonna be a 9 footer, 14 footer, and if there is something in between...also, a lot of the boats have 9.9HP motors. im thinking of maybe something a bit bigger. 15HP?? 20something??
7/6/2007 9:20:23 AM
i'd go for a 14 footer, a lot of places don't allow over a 10hp motor
7/6/2007 9:22:31 AM
7/6/2007 9:34:22 AM
some lakes and whatnot[Edited on July 8, 2007 at 1:43 PM. Reason : psi]
7/6/2007 9:34:40 AM
well its gonna stay at the beach. i dont even want a trailer. ill toss in in the back of a truck and take it to the beach. and chain it up under the deck.or just chain it up to the dock.
7/6/2007 9:36:22 AM
put a 25 hp on there then, it'll fly[Edited on July 8, 2007 at 1:42 PM. Reason : psi]
7/6/2007 9:36:55 AM
yeah. i was told 25HP.those trolly motors... they got some kick? will they move 2 niggas in a 14footer? ive seen them on bigger boats, so im sure they will. but i guess they come in different HPs or whatever.i may just steal some ole rednecks boat from the beach.
7/6/2007 9:39:55 AM
most trolling motors are rated by thrust
7/6/2007 10:29:18 AM
The 9.9 hp motor will provide plenty of motivation for an aluminum 14 foot boat. Trust me.
7/6/2007 11:33:44 AM

8/23/2007 11:01:47 AM
looks like a pretty good boat, but no title for the trailer and no registration.
8/23/2007 11:14:47 AM
i totally just skipped over all that. i just saw pics.well if you can treat it like a car you can get a dup. title. and then register it.
8/23/2007 11:20:21 AM
I think you might also be able to claim it as a salvage trailer and re-title it.
8/23/2007 11:38:03 AM
yo thats funny how i get on tww after a year, pm a guy with a jonboat then come in this room and seee you have a post about a jon boat....we must be related....take the free one and weld it
8/23/2007 12:52:52 PM
perhaps
8/23/2007 1:10:43 PM
boat/trailer titles aren't the pain in the ass car titles are. just get a bill of sale for the boat, and then title/register the trailer as a homebuilt if you're worried about it. a lot of people never do though, for a trailer that small you'll be pretty unlucky to ever get harassed about it.
8/23/2007 1:23:25 PM
i want that boat trailer though..or ill take underPNIS free one that i will have to niggerrigger up

8/23/2007 9:54:08 PM
hmmmmmmmm
8/24/2007 8:56:09 AM
the whole 10hp motor thing has to do with registering and having lights on the boat if i remember correctly, anything less than 10 you dont need either.

8/24/2007 8:10:17 PM
