I would if I had a transmission
7/1/2007 9:59:50 PM
I forgot you had one you wheel it????
7/1/2007 11:10:09 PM
I wanna see em wheelin 2. I've seen plenty of built rigs destroyed on it, and would love to see some GC's get torn up.
7/1/2007 11:35:14 PM
here you gonot tellico, but he'll be there this trip (he's planning this year's GSSE)And by the way... wheeling >>>>>> the internet so you can shove your 'gay' comments up your ass.
7/2/2007 12:13:04 AM
those are gay pics, you can see that in the lot at merchants or snappy lube anyday, show some real wheelin
7/2/2007 12:47:02 AM
here's GSW (grand slam west) held anually in moab, utahthis is my buddy matt's rig, probably the most enjoyable thing i've ever driven.satisfied?
7/2/2007 2:41:45 AM
I have wheeled it in Asheville, but nothing extreme due to a slipping trans....42RE FTL
7/2/2007 9:31:31 AM
thanks, but i do plenty of wheeling (and interneting). lets see YOUR wheelin pics, not your gay buddies.also, in case no one told you, those truggies/buggies aren't really jeeps anymore.
7/2/2007 10:37:12 AM
it takes me 12 hours to find my wheeling pics too.
7/2/2007 9:18:25 PM
I don't have any here. I'll be sure to report back to you.also, in case nobody told you, it's pretty obvious. but then again once you get a moderately built rig it's not 100% anything. most 'jeeps' I know have ford axles, chevy transmissions, and god knows what engine/transfercase.you can lose your elitst attitude with me, i'm not going to cower or be intimidated by your post count. perhaps you should come by for some beers and you won't hate me (as much).and moparnum.. i'm dealing with 42re blues too, i'm in the middle of an AW4 swap though so hopefully she'll be running and I can hit unf in the next few weeks.
7/2/2007 10:43:09 PM
I've been planning for the ax-15 swap myself, but haven't found the funds yet
7/2/2007 11:33:15 PM
^^blah blah post pics or stfu.^at least do a nv3550 if you're going through the trouble of a swap.[Edited on July 2, 2007 at 11:35 PM. Reason : .]
7/2/2007 11:33:30 PM
ax-15 is an easy swap. The parts are mostly available at napa due to that being the 5-speed offered in the 93.5' Grands w/4.0. I just need to find one that the assclown doesn't want $600 for and adapt some pedals, and I'd be set.
7/2/2007 11:38:31 PM
nv3550 should be too. it'll bolt in anywhere an ax15 is, and is a much better unit.
7/2/2007 11:51:27 PM
hmm, I might look into that then
7/2/2007 11:59:25 PM
I don't have any, like I said, when I go to tellico i'll take some and report back. The ax-15 is a semi-easy swap, the aw4 is a lot easier. AW4 requires electrical but ax15 requires pedals and hydraulics. Also I'm not a big fan of rock crawling with a standard transmission. It's hard enough being able to throw it in reverse in emergency situations, let enough having to deal with a clutch.
7/3/2007 5:00:07 AM
7/3/2007 7:00:42 AM
^^ My Jeep isn't for rock crawling, it's for hauling people and shit, and I like having a standard trans. plus, I think it adds a challenge off road since the only place close to here is UH, I'm not too concerned with it
7/3/2007 9:14:27 AM
^^^learn how to drive.if you want to talk about getting out of a backwards roll, pushing a clutch in is 10 times easier/faster than an emergency shift into reverse for an automatic. especially with a stock shifter, hoping you get it right and don't end up throwing it into park. where's that video of Jeepman on guardrail? he put on a clinic for saving a roll with a manual.automatics do make things a lot easier in a lot of situations off road, and the torque multiplication of a converter is nice, but i'll never have one as my primary wheelin vehicle.^^true that. the only thing that'll be non chrysler on my truck is the 14b rear. i could easily use the dodge d70 i have if it was that important to me, but the 14b has already been built. i like my mopars, but i'm not that brand loyal. use what works.[Edited on July 3, 2007 at 9:52 AM. Reason : .]
7/3/2007 9:48:07 AM
d70's are still nice and don't have like 1" ground clearance like 14b's do.
7/3/2007 4:33:37 PM
a mildly shaved 14b isn't really any lower than a d70. it's also got a stronger pinion and parts are cheaper/easier to come by. some people even argue 14b shafts are stronger, but i'd rate them about even.[Edited on July 3, 2007 at 4:46 PM. Reason : .]
7/3/2007 4:46:13 PM
agreed, you can't go wrong with either.
7/3/2007 9:42:22 PM
rear disks will hold in my c-clip axles....right?
7/4/2007 12:41:22 AM
just get a super 35, don't worry about it.
7/4/2007 1:51:20 AM
or a ford 8.8 w/discs since they can be had for way less then a super 35 including weldable mounting tabs. oh, and they're stronger.
7/4/2007 11:03:53 AM
^^^yes, the caliper on the disc keeps it from walking out if you break a shaft.^yep. super 35 is waste of money. you can also eliminate the c clips on an 8.8 fwiw.
7/4/2007 11:24:48 PM
it was on slickrock and i wanna get back out there to try it w/ it lower and some real tarrrsss
7/5/2007 12:48:07 AM
wheres the video of ivan wheeling the ramcharger with the 3 on the tree, theres your manual transmission wheeling action.
7/5/2007 9:48:35 AM
^ yeah, I wanna see that shit

slingblade is the new slowback[Edited on July 5, 2007 at 8:56 PM. Reason : ]
7/5/2007 8:55:46 PM
I was 100% facetious about the super 35. Super 35 is the epitome of polishing a turd. And screw 8.8, next summer i'll be swapping in a 9" HP44 combo. 8.8's are a great choice for narrow width but I want bigger. More side-angle stability would be nice.
7/6/2007 4:28:23 AM
post pics of your turd, polish boy
7/6/2007 8:03:56 AM
^^^8.8's come in full width also (with bigger shafts), but i digress... a 9" is a better axle.
7/6/2007 12:45:52 PM
Like I said a while back, I don't have any pics here. XP crashed on me about a month ago and I had to reformat. All I can find are a few I posted online when I cut fenders at a buddy's shop.nothing special, fork lift flex. that's with stock trackbars in too, those killed suspension travel. it's getting ready to look a lot different than that in the next month, i'm going to do cutout rockers and atleast a front bumper before hitting tellico.
7/7/2007 6:00:49 AM
^ you ever been up there? you locked? most of the locals run tons and big power. throttle will get you over most anything. just don't worry about body damage.
7/7/2007 8:52:52 AM
I had a lunchbox locker but my stroker tore tht up pretty good I'm about to throw in a lincoln locker.
7/7/2007 11:43:41 AM
good grief, it looks like a three year old got ahold of that cutoff wheel. how does that antenna mount survive? you're going to clean it off if you run any of the tougher trails at tellico.
7/7/2007 12:57:20 PM
ive never understood why people are so hell bent on using cutoff wheels to trim sheetmetal.
7/7/2007 3:23:24 PM
yeah, nibblers/shears are alot better, but if you've got a decently steady hand you can cut fenders nicely with a cutoff. i've seen better with a sawzall in this case though, lol. not a big deal though, function>>>form on something that's just going to get crunched anyway.
7/7/2007 3:56:42 PM
body saw works great for me.
