whats the difference between isiah washington and imus? they both got firedi dont like people playing the race card in our stupid ass PC society either, but he did get fired]
6/29/2007 11:58:00 AM
Yeah but apparently since he's black he can use a slur in public and shouldn't get fired. It's just whitey trying to keep him down. There just doesn't seem to be the public outcry as when a white guy did it.
6/29/2007 12:04:33 PM
i agree 100% there are double standards for race, etcbut he still got fired...so what if he's complaining about iti mean i dont think him or imus shouldve been firedi guess this just shows that gays rank higher than blacks on the 2007 'minority group rankings for political correctness']
6/29/2007 12:05:54 PM
^Because gays have it worse
6/29/2007 12:26:16 PM
What did washington do? Call someone a faggot on TV?
6/29/2007 12:27:08 PM
somethin like that...he said it about one of his co-stars...and then after apologizing and taking some "homosexual sensitivity" class or something he was still fired...just like imus gave his apologies and still got fired
6/29/2007 12:40:03 PM
Why does anyone care? Who gives a fuck what some shitty TV actor said or didn't say. His job is to play a role on TV and entertain people.

Imus originally was not going to get fired, until the advertisers pulled ads.It seems Washington was just fired outright. And I don't think Washington's comments were aired live, but according to Wikipedia he grabbed someone by the throat: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Isaiah_Washington#Grey.27s_Anatomy_controversy Which is grounds for firing, I think, on its own. And regarding faggot, Washington asked for help with his issues with gays, but Imus did not ask for help regarding blacks.I don't really see how their situations are meaningfully similar.[Edited on June 29, 2007 at 12:47 PM. and she didnt technically call him a faggot although she obviously implied it
6/29/2007 1:34:59 PM
i love how he says he used it twice but didn't get a second chance. my guess is the second chance came after the first instance. and racism? he was using anti-gay slurs. so he was being a bigot and wants to cry racism. that's hilarious
6/29/2007 5:24:36 PM
i really never paid attention to thisbut he called some who was really gay a "faggot"and grabbed a co-star by the throat?fuck that dudethat's WAY over so many lines[Edited on June 29, 2007 at 5:45 PM. Reason : .]
6/29/2007 5:43:58 PM
i guess he figured since he's black and can use the 'N' word that he can use the 'Faggot' word too
6/29/2007 5:52:01 PM
i don't think he understands that be being a dick about this and trying to play the race card he's only hurting himself when it come to future jobswho's going to want to hire a troublemaker who's going to bitch and whine if thing turn out badly?
6/29/2007 5:54:41 PM
The dude is just flailing his arms wasting his time now. For one thing, they let him continue on the show until the end of the season and didn't renew his contract, which they can do no matter what he's done. That's quite different from Imus' firing. He also claims Patrick Dempsey, the guy he supposedly choked, supports him:http://community.tvguide.com/blog-entry/TVGuide-News-Blog/Todays-News/Isaiah-Washington-Says/800017561He claims TR Knight (the guy he called faggot) is the real problem:http://community.tvguide.com/blog-entry/TVGuide-News-Blog/Todays-News/Isaiah-Washington-Greys/800017353The test to see if he was the victim of racism is to look at the situation and see if you think it would be fair to fire a white man who did the same things. The answer is obvious.

i dont care what color you are...go on.... you choke one guy and call another guy "faggot" in your workplace.[/career]

i wonder why people are scared or nervous around you. it could be that you are a dark skinned, tall man. or...or...it could be that people get uncomfortable around people who make blatantly hateful comments and grab others by the throat. one or the other.
