http://hardblogger.msnbc.msn.com/archive/2007/06/26/236510.aspxpretty funny. elizabeth edwards calls in to Hardball and calls out ann coulter.
6/26/2007 7:54:41 PM
Wow
6/26/2007 7:58:42 PM
there is one word for ann:cunt
6/26/2007 8:00:29 PM
ann is a cunt
6/26/2007 8:03:56 PM
Thats just silly1) Coulter was attacking Edwards' character, not mocking his dead son.2) Coulter made the single comment 3 years ago and now that she's back in the political spotlight Elizabeth Edwards wants to use it generate sympathy.I don't ask someone to stop speaking 3 years after they offend me on one occasion.
6/26/2007 8:06:07 PM
what did she say yesterday?
6/26/2007 8:09:14 PM
I can't find the exact quote right now, but it basically said she wouldn't mind seeing john edwards killed by a terrorist in the future
6/26/2007 8:26:17 PM
6/26/2007 8:38:35 PM
Ann Coulter is a cunt, no doubt about it, and she makes her living being a cunt, I'm not sure if thats an excuse or makes it worse, but either way Elizabeth Edwards is going to fuck up her husbands chances.
6/26/2007 9:03:42 PM
Coulter defends her joke some here.[Edited on June 26, 2007 at 9:22 PM. Reason : spelling is hard]

6/26/2007 9:13:41 PM
yeeaaahhh. True. Except that I'm not sure how much of what Ann Coulter says is real, and what is just business. Which really makes it worse. Elizabeth's comments were ignorant and poorly thought out, but not really meant to cause emotional harm I don't imagine. Still, its not helping her husband.^ I concede.
6/26/2007 9:17:18 PM
^ But why bring up that point when she's dying of cancer? So if she was indeed looking to pull for sympathy/tears/support for her husband why not just bring up that "money maker"?Because she wasn't. Elizabeth called in to ask her to stop making personal attacks. Coulter just danced around her statements pretending she never said them.
6/26/2007 9:21:27 PM
6/26/2007 9:55:02 PM
^ i see your points, but i think you are a little too trusting of people's motives. and did we really expect more from Edwards? i mean he does a)need the press b) need the $texas and c) need more support. however if this is Elizabeth's last greta shot (b/c of elections not death) to shove it up Coulter's ass on national TV, why not?the more you ignore AC, the more she keeps saying shit like "a majority of our military soldiers agree with me and Rush" right after she said "we should just not worry about killing massive amounts of civies over there", and getting away with it. you know?I watched the video and AC got beat up. She was just mocking and dancing and laughing it all off as if people respected her. Sad really.

Much less eloquently stated on the video (reality) than the transcript.
6/26/2007 11:35:23 PM
Yes, I think it's likely the case that Elizabeth Edwards brought this up when she did for politically motivated reasons. However I also think that when someone makes fun of your dead son, it pretty much gives you a blank check in my book to take a shot like this right back for whatever the fuck reason you want.
6/27/2007 1:51:34 AM
6/27/2007 2:07:22 AM
As I understand it she never made fun of the dead son, she just criticized Edwards for politicizing it.
6/27/2007 2:59:20 AM
I find it difficult to defend Ann Coulter--but I will defend her right to say what some think are indefensible things. After all, it's most often the liberals that are scheming to silence opposing viewpoints in this country. At any rate, I often find myself agreeing with the premise of what Coulter is saying, while physically wincing at the way she chose to say it. The Jersey Girls incident comes to mind. It's a shame that Coulter chooses to be so inflammatory in her remarks. Though the remarks in question generate a lot of money for her and groups on both sides of the aisle, I think that she would communicate her positions more effectively without the bomb-throwing. And that phony John Edwards doesn't deserve to be elevated in the debate at issue or any other because of Coulter's dumb comments. I mean, she's just helping him, which isn't very smart.[Edited on June 27, 2007 at 3:15 AM. Reason : .]

this is clear desperation. Edwards is down in polls and they are trying everything they can to get some attention.Complaining of something 3 years ago? While distasteful, it was more an attack on John, not his son. If you cant handle a bad comedian making a bad joke, you have no business in the whitehouse.
6/27/2007 8:51:10 AM
^What polls are you looking at?Edwards is winning Iowa, And is climbing in New hampshire and is up in South Carolina. What polls are you talking about?
6/27/2007 9:07:09 AM
ann coulter (who typically is well composed) looked like a deer in headlights (even though you couldnt see her eyes) during that phone call. she had a nervousness in her voice and was struggling to form sentences.its funny to see people like that get caught off-guard sometimes. especially someone like ann coulter.
6/27/2007 9:23:52 AM
6/27/2007 9:33:04 AM
I agree with this part:
6/27/2007 9:40:52 AM
Yeah, edwards is kicking butt nutsmaker. LOLhttp://www.2004dnc.com/2008presidentialelection/http://www.realclearpolitics.com/epolls/2008/president/us/democratic_presidential_nomination-191.htmlhttp://www.associatedcontent.com/article/280763/poll_shows_fred_thompson_gaining_on.htmlhttp://www.rasmussenreports.com/public_content/politics/2008_democratic_presidential_primary__8"According to the poll, John Edwards, the former North Carolina Senator and the vice presidential candidate in John Kerry's unsuccessful run for the Presidency in 2004, is now in third place, with 8 percent, far behind Clinton and Obama. Edwards had 14 percent in the Times/Bloomberg poll just two months ago."
6/27/2007 9:42:24 AM
I am glad Elizabeth Edwards called Coulter out on her crap. The day before this occurred, Coulter wished that Edwards would be killed by terrorists, which makes all prior comments relevant when Coulter was trying to down play everything. This is a no win situation for the Edwards among conservative groups. They would have been spineless not to respond or they are looking for press if they do. I would have done the same thing in a similar situation.
6/27/2007 10:42:28 AM
if edwards got elected i wonder if elizabeth edwards would call up saturday night live and jay leno and david letterman every single day and say "stop with the personal attacks"wow you're in the public spotlight, deal with it
6/27/2007 10:44:12 AM
Comedians != political pundits (although it's really more the fault of the media outlets for giving her a voice on what are supposed to be news channels)
6/27/2007 10:46:16 AM
doesnt matterthe potential first lady better get some thicker skin cause the shit is never ever ever ever going to stopits part of the territoryor perhaps elizabeth edwards is just against freedom of speech]
6/27/2007 10:48:02 AM
Do you not understand the difference between what Coulter said and what the other 99.9% of pundits say?
6/27/2007 10:54:35 AM
do you not understand the 1st amendment]
6/27/2007 10:55:20 AM
That's the one that prevents people from being called the fuck out for saying stupid crap?
6/27/2007 10:56:39 AM
all i know is this is today's "get your liberal panties in a wad" topic thats SOOOOO IMPORTANT /sarcasmwow, two stupid bitches talking shit to each other...who gives a flying fuck]
6/27/2007 10:57:21 AM
so you posted in it, why?
6/27/2007 10:58:17 AM
to use my freedom of speech to point out how this "story" is another example of a completely meaningless irrelevant story
6/27/2007 11:00:51 AM
6/27/2007 11:12:05 AM
The freedom to speak does not protect you from the backlash of your words. Also, there are levels of speech that have different levels of protection. This is low level, white trash speech that borderlines on libel. It would be different if it was unpopular political ideas.
6/27/2007 11:14:37 AM
what was libelist about what she said?and are we just going to censor everyone that says something controversial? lets only ask the politicians more easy questions so they can give us some bullshit safe answers...great
6/27/2007 11:17:55 AM
6/27/2007 11:22:25 AM
6/27/2007 11:45:54 AM
she probably does hate free speech if that speech happens to point out sheisty shit that she or her husband have done in the past
6/27/2007 11:48:12 AM
Nah, I doubt she hates free speech because of that.
6/27/2007 11:48:55 AM
so she's selective about how she interprets the bill of rightsshe only hates the free speech that paints her in a negative lighti doubt she'd be up in arms if something was said about another candidatebut none of that changes the fact that the modern day political stage is like that...if you cant deal with it i dont think pres/1st lady is the right position for you, because its not gonna get any better]
6/27/2007 11:51:13 AM
Nah, she isn't selective. She loves the first amendment. I know, because I chatted with her about it the other day. Really sweet woman.
6/27/2007 11:53:41 AM
I chatted about it with her this morning and she hates it. She was a really mean woman.
