I'm donating my gently used clothes to goodwill...But what about some older stuff with marks or tears in it? Is there anything else that can be done other than to just toss them? Tossing 80% or 90% good fabric because a small portion is bad just seems really inefficient to me...[Edited on June 23, 2007 at 3:54 PM. Reason : .]

Put them on FreeCycle. Just explain that they are old clothes with marks or tears, but the majority is good fabric that could be used by someone.

Most places like Goodwill will still take them, and evaluate whether they are suitable for sale. If not, they will sell them off to a rag dealer and still get some benefit out of them.Just call and ask.[Edited on June 24, 2007 at 3:39 PM. Reason : ]
