Original starter cartridge was replaced during finals in the spring. Printer has been hardly used since. Starter cartridge (1/3 full) lasted over a year. Each cartridge prints roughly 3,000 pages, replacements are only $40 off the internet and $80 at office supply stores. This printer will save you a ton on ink cartridges.
