Can you imagine what this little boy may have seen?

That chick's the rug doctor
6/18/2007 10:10:26 PM
I have never heard a 2 year old say anything that sounded like coherent English. I'll be surprised if they find out Mommy was ever in a rug, because I think it's more likely they are hearing this kid say what they think happened.
6/18/2007 10:10:33 PM
plenty of 2yr olds can form very coherent sentences - maybe you have just been around shy/slow 2yr olds
6/18/2007 10:13:23 PM
what he said
6/18/2007 11:16:34 PM
So what is that suppose to mean?
6/18/2007 11:34:10 PM
6/18/2007 11:43:15 PM
I think I heard the kid say it in the Today show story this morning.
6/18/2007 11:51:53 PM
maybe like someone rolled her up in the rug? therefore she would be "in" the rug?
6/19/2007 12:43:50 AM
my two year old can speak simple sentences.and him being a boy, his language has developed much slower than girls his age. many of the girls were speaking in full, complex sentences by 18 months.

6/19/2007 1:03:31 AM
perhaps. possibly. maybe even probably... but not "obviously"language skills are incomplete at that age. the grasp of prepositions is not automatic. theres a huge developmental gradient between 2 and 3 years. is the kid 2 yrs. 1 mo.? or 2 yrs. 10 mos? it makes a difference.in any event, this whole thing sounds terribly tragic. i hope she is found safe. if one is a believer in prayer.. now would be a good time.[Edited on June 19, 2007 at 1:13 AM. I've got a 2 yr old son (he'll be 3 in August) and he can talk in sentences just fine. Granted his grammar isn't always right, but anyone can understand him. He can count from 1-10 in English and in Spanish as well as say some other stuff in Spanish (the daycare he is at has a spanish teacher that teaches them) as well as his ABC's, etc.Now back when he had just turned 2, he couldn't do most of that

i feel sorry for anyone that didn't find that blatently obvious
6/19/2007 9:00:50 AM
yeah it's cool to be an asshole in a thread like this.
6/19/2007 9:02:21 AM
OR SHE'S STILL UNDER THE FLOORBOARDS

As a nanny, I have worked with quite a few children -- a fair number of them under the age of two.One of my last charges was with me from 15 months until couple of weeks after his 2nd birthday. Before he was 2 years old, he was able to put together simple sentences like "Erica, that your yogurt?" or "Mommy upstairs working." or "Yesterday, I go to Bullwinkle's. See water!" Now he was not completely reliable because yesterday may have been 5 days ago, Mommy may not currently be upstairs working, or Bullwinkle's could have been any number of places with a fountain. But anyone could understand him literally and anyone involved in his daily life would be able to decipher what he meant. With most little kids, "Mommy is crying." could actually mean that Mommy is screaming or covering her face as though she were crying. And "Mommy's in the rug." could mean that mommy is on the rug or wrapped up in something similar to a rug (like a blanket). But I don't doubt that the two year old is making that statement and that the statement is somehow meaningful.

My daughter is 18 months and she speaks in sentences. And I believe I heard on the news that they think he confused rug with the comforter that is missing from the master bedroom!

update:
6/19/2007 11:24:04 PM
sounds like she went insane.

Women are most likely to be murdered when they are pregnant, then with newborn. You'll never guess who does the killing!

i was just waiting for some skeletons in the husband's closet to start coming out...

cops have just announced they are holding a press conference at 5pmi'm betting the dogs found her
6/21/2007 2:03:31 PM
where did you see that?
6/21/2007 2:18:04 PM
FoxNews has been airing it on TV but i've yet to see it posted on CNN websiteFoxNews has it up on their website though
6/21/2007 2:26:45 PM
"mommy's in the rug" could have implied that she bled on/in the rug.. that would explain the bleach on the floor..just a thought.
6/21/2007 4:21:08 PM
i dont think kids think that deeply and/or are that bizarre. the mistaken comforter theory is the most logical.
6/21/2007 4:25:10 PM
if you read the article on fox news.....the area the cadaver dogs found has a green and white rug by it.
6/21/2007 4:38:05 PM
^They said that rug looks like it may have been there a while, though.
6/21/2007 4:43:28 PM
yeah, but the rug hasn't undergone any testing or anything. It was found by a 10-year old boy and appeared to have been there for a long time. Depending on the weather and stuff, sight can be deceiving.
6/21/2007 4:51:49 PM
That's true. I hope they can figure out what happened to her.
6/21/2007 4:53:55 PM
im betting 10 to one on suicide. rolled her self into the rug and chucked her own corpse in the woods.
6/21/2007 5:14:52 PM
She's dead Jim.
6/21/2007 5:16:38 PM
you know there are cases where a pregnant woman close to delivery is kidnapped by another woman who wants a baby, and cuts it out of the womans belly. id be more afraid its something like that, than the father of the child.
6/21/2007 6:50:06 PM
^That case you are referring to happened in a town very close to North Canton a couple years ago.
6/22/2007 7:20:15 AM
^^that's really sad. Women like that should just get pregnant themselves or adopt!!!!but I have heard stories like that. Really scary.
6/22/2007 9:09:57 AM
^ "women like that" (that would cut someone open to steal their baby) dont need to be raising kids
6/22/2007 11:11:56 AM
^, ^^ "Women like that" usually can't have kids or have had miscarriages or something and have developed severe mental problems.
