I've got my choice of getting a new dell notebook and am trying to decide between the M90 x32 Edition and the XPS M1710. One difference I am seeing is the video cards they offer for each notebook. the XPS comes with a 512MB NVIDIA® GeForce™ Go 7950 GTX, while the M90 offers the NVIDIA® Quadro FX 3500M, 512MB (dedicated), OpenGL. Does anyone know which card is the superior one or least what the differences or adv/dis adv of each card. I looked around on NVIDIA's site but couldn't find too much b/c these are in notebooks and they really only seemed to have detailed specs on their other cards.thanks in advance.

if you aren't going to be doing 3d modeling (Rhinoceros, 3d studio max, alias) get the one with the Geforce Go. The quadro card is going to have much lower gaming performance

Im looking for the one with the better refresh rate or faster one of the two. I'll be doing stock market trading and I was told that in order to do the trading at home with the software instead of at the actual office, that I would need a pretty good graphics card. Seems like the GeForce is the one to get from the comments though. I am open to any other computer suggestions, as long as its Dell b/c I get a discount with them.thanks again

what?no.the refresh rate is/will be limited by your LCD screen....and that is also incorrect as I doubt you can react in less than 1/60th of a second or less....also, refresh rate of your moniter has practically nothing to do with the data changing on your screen, the slow part will be your computer as a whole, internet connection, and ram.

any laptop video card will output at 60hz (the frequency of your lcd). you could do your job with a $400 walmart laptop.
