i heard the browser was slow as fuck. your thoughts?
6/13/2007 10:30:10 PM
saying "im posting from my DS lite" is equivalent to saying "i like cock in my ass"
6/13/2007 10:31:13 PM
thats pretty cool frosh. i wonder how much love the internet browser will get by DS users over here.
6/13/2007 10:32:55 PM

You have the option to "type" with the stylus on a virtual keyboard or use handwriting recognition, which I'm doing now. It's pretty intuitive. The browser renders a bit slowly, but the included Memory Pak helps. I think it'll be great when I'm without my laptop. Gonna try Gmail next.P.S. cyrion ain't kiddin'.

MAN THIS IS ENTERTAINMENT
6/14/2007 1:12:47 AM
Well, considering I'm talking about a product for a video game system, I thought Entertainment would be most appropriate. Of course, I suppose you could argue that Tech Talk would be a more appropriate venue, but really....

This should obviously be in the Feedback Forum, because you are giving feedback about how the browser works
6/14/2007 2:17:55 PM
Anyone seen the broswer for the DS fat around anywhere?
6/14/2007 4:37:40 PM
Chit ChatWhere people don't give a shitThis would be appropriate
6/14/2007 4:40:10 PM
does it require slot a and slot b cards?
6/14/2007 4:50:37 PM
You can order the browser and Memory Pak for the original DS from Nintendo's website: http://www.nintendo.com/There's a separate Memory Pak that plugs into the Advance slot (SLOT-2), and the browser itself is stored on a typical DS card that goes into SLOT-1. The Memory Pak is required and included with the browser.[Edited on June 14, 2007 at 4:52 PM. Reason : ...]

I know you can order it there, but are they only selling that version only online? Pretty crabby considering how many folks still have origional DSs.
6/14/2007 5:00:02 PM
I suppose any retailer could special-order it for you.
6/14/2007 5:01:52 PM
I'm pretty sure the GameStop on New Bern had the Pak and stuff for the normal DS.The browser is insanely handy and better than I thought it was going to be
6/19/2007 2:09:35 PM
Yeah, it's way more convenient than lugging around a laptop. I hope more sites come up with mobile device-friendly layouts, though. Some DS-specific ones would be great. Any of you found anything?
6/20/2007 10:47:42 AM
the rumble pak for the ds is on clearance at certain eb's and shit.i wonder if it'll work with the ds lite?
6/20/2007 11:08:39 AM
it would fit, but probably hang out over the edge of the DS lite
6/21/2007 10:50:44 AM
^Alright i'm new to the DS. If i buy one i can get wifi browser capability? And it works with the newer DS lites?
6/22/2007 3:47:07 PM
all ds's have built in wifi capability. the web browser is in stores for $30 and only works for the lite. you can order a version direct from nintendo that works with the older style ones.

Since I made this thread, I went on to use browsers with the PSP and the Vita. I'm now posting from the far-flung future of 2015 using an iPad Air 2 on a 4G cellular connection, and I can't imagine going back to the ancient ways.

^^good thing you got off the no-WPA trainNow I remember when I heard the DS and Wii browsers were based on Opera, that along with CS3 using Presto made me think that was the Rendering Engine of the Future™a few years later, good night sweet prince

To be fair, most of the value there came from the add-on Memory Pak.
