I am considering singing up with Earthlink simply b/c they are offering the same cable internet speed as twc for much less and was hoping to get some people's opinion on them. I had read previously that they run their cable internet service through timewarner so the service should be no different than roadrunner. Is this still the case or no?

Earthlink offers both DSL (cheaper) and cable. Which one are you looking at? If theyre advertising <$20/month its probably DSL.Judging from their website, it looks like their cable pricing is almost identical as TWC]

Im lookin at cable, they have it for $29 a month for 6 months and then 41 after that. Also says it includes wireless networking and all that too for free. I wont have TWC cable so roadrunner would be $45 a month unless someone knows a deal going on that I dont. I just wanted to see what people had to say about earthlink and if they'd compare them to roadrunner in terms of cable internet speeds and all. Like i said before there is a old thread that mentioned earthlink did their cable internet through twc and I didn't know if that was the same case now or not.

Its going to be through TWC...thats the only coaxial cable you have going to your house. And I think its going to be the same if not cheaper staight from TWChttp://www.timewarnercable.com/nc/products/roadrunner/rrlite.html

You wouldn't compare it to RRlite as it is only rated at 1.5Mbps and the earthlink cable is rated at 5Mbps which is what regular roadrunner is.

Ok I looked at it again, you can get regular RoadRunner (5.0Mbs) for $34.95/month for 12 months. That comes out to the same amount of money as Earthlink with $30/month for 6 months and $42/month for 6 months. Or you can get RRLite for $30/month and save $60 per year.So given the choice, I'd pick TWC for simplicity. The only thing that may vary is the backup dial-up account usage. Earthlink might have more access numbers than TWC but I'm not sure. But since 95% of TWC useres don't even know about that dial-up access, I doubt it matters much.]

yeah the 34.95 cost of RRfrom twc is only for people that are getting cable from them too. Ill be getting DTV or Dish so Id have to pay the 45 cost for it

i don't understand you people...how do you not argue for a better price? i have twc RR (5mbps) for $29.95/month, no contract and (so i was told) would stay at the price until i canceled it...dude came to my apartment to get me to sign the contract and said he was glad to meet me, that he wasn't sure if he should bring his boxing gloves or not maybe you people are just pansies
