Thing that sucks about "Turbo" is the upload speed is the same as basic, which is around 400-500kb/s (40kB/s) and that just sucks. Trying to upload photos through an apache server blows. Too bad RR caps the upload bandwidth so low.

point of clarification: 400-500Kb/s = 50-60 (or 62.5 to be exact) KB/s

Good looks.

We're trying to sign up for RoadRunner for our new place. What's the regular pricing?

35$ for 5mb, and 45$ for 8mb internet. Then i think 35 for basic digital cable.

-Or the deal for 35/8mb if you're a new customer.

normal price is 44.95/ mon for 5mbs and 54.99 for 8mbs . if you have didtal cable already i think they take like 5$ off. they ussally have some type of special pricing for around what neo data listed though.

Packet shaping...

Don't bother getting a premium roadrunner service and don't expect good bittorrent performance.

Yeah that won't last.

Well, it says during peak hours only, but it's pretty easy for them to implement it whenever they want, and however they want (read : secretly and without telling you).

I just hate how there are not many alternatives when it comes to high speed internet....i dont want no dsl shit, and i dont want road runner, which pretty much takes away all the options in the raleigh area

all you have to do is ask for the upgrade.

i still pay 29.99 (up from 24.99 for 5mbps) for the 8mbps.

just ask, that's all ya gotta do. the worst they can say is no, but that's rarely happened for me.

[Edited on June 10, 2007 at 1:42 PM. Reason : FIOS is ok, but nothing special. what i would prefer is agressive pricing due to other cable operat]

I wish I had access to Roadrunner.

I wish I had access to DSL.

One of the many downsides of living in the middle of nowhere is that my Internet options are either dial-up (unacceptably slow) or satellite (unacceptably expensive).

there needs to be like 5 different companies that offer something similar to road runner

and one needs to be like 15/month, a few at 20/month, maybe 1 at 30/month, and the last at like 40/month....then that way as a consumer i can pick the 15/month option
