6/3/2007 1:14:30 PM
Verizon only offers FIOS in areas where they are the ILEC. Bellsouth, now at&t is the ilec in raleigh, not verizon.

I want 40 Mbit down and no less than 1 Mbit up. I'm tired of waiting for these sucky US telecoms to catch up with the rest of the world
8/3/2007 11:32:19 AM
I'd be happy with a symmetric 5Mbps dedicated bandwidth connection. I hate having bandwidth drop during peak hours.
8/3/2007 11:54:56 AM
I been in nyc for the last few days. I really really wish cablevision didn't leave the NC market. It's so much better than twc. Optimum online pushes 10mb/4mb for $30/month and they get all the old voom stations in their hd package for another $30/month. We're definitely getting the shaft down here.
8/3/2007 1:22:26 PM
I'm moving into Lower Manhattan tomorrow and I already checked...FIOS not available
8/3/2007 1:27:31 PM

Any competition for cable is good.

10/24/2007 3:09:28 PM
are you seroius? damn! i'm going to call today and see if its available.so if FIOS is available to my house does that automatically mean their TV service is as well since its coming in over the same lines (i'm assuming)[Edited on October 24, 2007 at 3:14 PM. Reason : ..]
10/24/2007 3:14:07 PM
please re-read the thread.
10/24/2007 3:19:28 PM
ok so let me recap the first handfull of posts that you so eagerly wanted me to re-read.FIOS is awesome - yes it is, but can I get it in Raleigh?wait....you're both hairy AND sexy? - I'm not sure I care but can I get it in Raleigh? We have it at work off glenwood. - Isn't glenwood in Raleigh? Can I get it where i'm at?haha it was CREATED off glenwood... but not available elsewhere...sweet project to have worked on GPON FTW bitches - Info to back this up where?Verizon only offers FIOS in areas where they are the ILEC. Bellsouth, now at&t is the ilec in raleigh, not verizon. - Any hard evidence to back this up?and stopped reading....Their web-site says to call to verify that I can get it with my address. When a co-worker put in his address it flat out said [no] in so many words.[Edited on October 24, 2007 at 3:22 PM. Reason : ...]

Dude, I can't help that you are mentally deficient. For starters, the thread was created in June of 07. Don't you think if we had FIOS in this area, this section would be talking about it a ton more than it does.Secondly, a guy that worked on the project said it wasn't available anywhere elsethis was followed up by another guy with another explanation about why it isn't availableThis thing was bttt'd and the subject matter of the link had nothing to do with rolling out FIOS to any new locationIt is immediately and obviously clear that you didn't critically read what was in front of your eyes.
10/24/2007 5:24:21 PM
it was so hard seeing what was in this thread with such a bright light bouncing off your bald head, fag.
10/24/2007 5:31:25 PM
This is BTTT'd because FIOS rollouts are beginning in NC.
10/24/2007 5:54:15 PM
I'm still trying to figure out how that dude is hairy and sexy.It boggles the mind.
10/24/2007 7:40:13 PM
^^ Link?
10/24/2007 7:50:03 PM
I only have anecdotal evidence from coworkers who claim to had signed up in Durham.I called verizon myself but they only told me that because I had ATT I wouldnt be eligible.
10/24/2007 9:46:41 PM
I can't wait until FIOS is available here. I'm so fucking sick of TWC.
10/24/2007 9:50:14 PM
if you currently have bellsouth/ATT for phone service:you are never getting FiOS. bellsouth/ATT will not give up territory.
10/24/2007 10:13:05 PM
do you people actually have ATT or they just provide the service to your area? Cause I don't have a land line never have...
10/24/2007 10:22:18 PM
Fuckin time to MOVE then I'd say. Then again I'll be buying a house in 9-16 months, and if stuff outside Raleigh has FIOS- well time to not buy in raleigh.
10/24/2007 10:22:38 PM
verizon is not going to have FIOS available in raleigh, dumbfucks. maybe in durham, where verizon is the incumbent lec they will roll it out (as sadsanta said).
10/26/2007 12:10:04 AM
Are Cary and Apex AT&T also?
10/26/2007 12:43:50 AM
10/26/2007 1:25:17 AM
not available in durham as of yet.
10/26/2007 2:00:14 AM
10/26/2007 5:49:32 AM
not saying anything about FIOS but quality of life has exceeded Raleighs standards in the surrounding areas.Brier Creek area, highway 55, parts of Apex. Granted non of these places have FIOS but they do provide a higher quality of life. Closer to most peoples work in RTP area.
10/26/2007 8:56:46 AM
i helped make u-verse 2 years ago - i still haven't seen it in action in someone's house
10/26/2007 8:58:05 AM
^^ well, I don't want to derail the thread into a debate on the triangle, but i was saying that based on where someone had mentioned durham. The point that I wanted to make is that I wouldn't put broadband type as the determining factor in choosing a place to live. And I wouldn't even begin to entertain the idea of moving just because another area has better broadband.
10/26/2007 9:18:55 AM
Brier Creek = higher quality of life than Raleighhahahaoh god, that's pretty good manWait...Brier Creek is Raleigh dumbass
10/26/2007 10:06:30 AM
^^yeah, i see the point you were trying to make and I agree. It's silly and an awful investment idea to buy a house based on FiOS or internet quality.^well since you've probably never been to brier creek or left the house...you probably have missed that Brier Creek is the ideal place for young professionals or young families to live especially if they work in the RTP area which is a large percentage of people in the triangle. Its close to everything, easy access to 540. So yes, this is a higher quality of life. [Edited on October 26, 2007 at 10:18 AM. Reason : .]
10/26/2007 10:09:25 AM
Stop clowning yourself. You're sitting there trying to insult/troll me, when you are apparently retarded to the fact that the mail that is coming to your address at your Brier Creek townhouse bought by your uncle has Raleigh at the bottom of it.
10/26/2007 1:59:26 PM
hey look! its mr low self esteem. Hi Chance!
10/26/2007 2:09:45 PM
I mean, barring any reasonable discussion about quality of life, and the fact that you just misspoke about Brier Creek and Raleighand fearing you'll get owned anywayyou can always do what the best of tdub has to offer doesjust resort to name calling
