Baby ball python.

Didn't eat last week, now it's in the process of shedding. Should i feed it or wait? I don't really know.

Pump it with hormones and roids until it's big enough to make some boots.

Then kill it and make a belt.

give it a day or so. it can technically eat after it's done (it's not like they're soft or anything). waiting won't hurt it if it eats regularly.

check his belly and eyes to see if he's about to shed, and don't feed from then until he's completely done

[Edited on June 2, 2007 at 1:01 PM. Reason : belly gets pinkish and eyes get cloudy/occluded]

I thought it said "should a snake eat its shedding?"

I once had geckos and they ate their shedding, but I guess that was normal.

oh, and to answer your question, yes, you can feed it. waiting a day or two isn't going to hurt either.

It's more of a question of will the snake eat while shedding than should I feed him. If the snake will eat, let em eat, but many simply won't when they're shedding. I've never heard of any complications of feeding a snake in shed either.

I really thought that she was asking if a snake was supposed to eat its shed like a freakin' hermit crab.

^^ that's what i thought at first, too. i've never had a snake do it, but it's not all that uncommon in the reptile world.
