So my computer will boot normally until right before it shows the windows xp booting graphic. at this point the monitor just turns blank. any suggestions on what i can do to fix it? i took it to a computer repair shop about a month ago with the same problem and the guy replaced my graphics card. it worked fine for about 2 weeks and then this crap started again. i am assuming the graphics card is not the main issue and it could be a motherboard problem. any advice or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

could be your video card slot blowing up the cards...in which case you're have to use a shitty pci card or get a new mobo[Edited on May 23, 2007 at 12:22 PM. Reason : *]

If you just upgraded your monitor the resolution being displayed may not be capable with the current monitor....just a thought. Try booting into VGA mode (tap f8 as the computer boots) and see if that works.

I would just like to state that based on the title of this thread, I feel your computer and I have much in common.
