Picked up this (?http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage.jsp?skuId=8294008&type=product&productCategoryId=pcmcat107700050005&id=1172277308372) external drive yesterday to try and hook up to my DVR, but it did not come with an eSATA cable. I've tried Best Buy, Circuit City, Tiger Direct, Intrex and a place called Connnect-It and none of them carry the cables. I know I can get one online, but a big reason why I picked that drive up was so that I wouldn't have to pay for shipping and wait for it to get here. At $169.99 it seemed like a great deal compared to ordering a drive, enclosure, and shipping online, but now i'm not so sure since I have to get a cable too. Any suggestions of where else I can look or know where I can get a better deal on a drive and enclosure? If I have to order the cable online I might as well look to see if I can save a little more money

Standard sata cables will work for that. Intrex has a 39" long one for $4.99.

^^^ By PC anything did you mean Anything PC? Found that using google, but its in Cary not on S Saunders. They only have the standard type A connectors as well.

^^where are you at? If I have to order one online I'll buy yours for like $5 or so plus shipping.

^Standard SATA cables will not work without some kind of converter. I need an eSATA connectors on the ends. Standard SATA Type A connectors are different.

eSATA connector ('i' type):

SATA Type A connector ('L' type)

who knows..the only thing i could think of is if there is some kind of locking mechanism to help keep it from coming out. I'd imagine it would have a greater possiblity of getting pulled than one in a case.
