State Farm. Never had to use it, but it's well worth it for the piddly amount you pay for significant coverage.

I've got mine through Nationwide. It's pretty inexpensive. Worth it if you've got a lot of personal possessions in your apartment.

if you have high value item(s), I'd suggest personal property floaters on top of rental insurance. for example, my academy ring is under a separate policy so if anything happens I can get an exact replacement (they have a jeweler's appraisal of the stones) without worrying about proving worth

yeah get it, take pics/keep receipts for big items. I have like 30k and 300k liability for like 9 bucks a month.Be sure to check coverage limits on certain items such as computers, jewelry, expensive watches. If you have anything worth more then the coverage limit then you should get valuable item insurance, which will cover you over the limit and also cover you for misplacing the item.

also if you own a lot of high priced clothes be sure to take exact photos of them and the brand name etc...

Good lord...my renter's is $100/yr with significantly lower coverage levels. And I have USAA opinions on it: I refuse to be without it.[Edited on May 15, 2007 at 3:50 PM. Reason : was one year, not 6mo]
