as far as cache and their policies...is that bad for the life of the drive? I'm tired of the huge lag every time i come to do things like empty the recycling bin, access the external (media) drive after not using it for a long period of time etc....so i changed the policies on it to keep it cached like any other drive and increase performance. What are the risks in doing this besides the usual risks of corrupted data if it gets disconnected during reading or writing etc. as though it were an internal drive.oh i forgot to add: its also connected to a battery back-up just like my computer so I don't run the risk of power interruptions during storms.[Edited on May 12, 2007 at 6:17 PM. Not bad...it seems like you have already taken care of the potential issues.
