Has anyone ever played this? Looks interesting, able to upload a WIDE variety of characters into a street fighter type fighting game.

Yea, if you like 2D fighters its awesome. I have played it for about 6 months and the only problem I have found with it is character balance. Some characters are ridiculously more powerful than others. There are a ton of videos on Youtube: http://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=mugen&search=Search

You can tweak character balance but it's a pain and time consuming. Adding characters, stages, and music and then tweaking characters for balance can take up quite a bit of time. The best thing to do would be to torrent a good mugen base that someone has already put a lot of work into and then edit out the characters you don't like with ones you cherry pick from google. You'll end up saving a ton of time that way.[Edited on May 10, 2007 at 7:49 AM. Reason : -]

Did you play with the keyboard or with a game controller/joystick??? What kind of game controller did you use if you used one?

I've used a MS Sidewinder. I just got a 360 controller but I haven't played mugen since I bought it. I'm sure it would work.
