You know, these things...I'd be willing to pay decent $$ for a nice set. The cheapies you get at Harbor Freight SUCK!

you can get a digital one for around 30 bucks these days. about as precise as dial ones (i think .02mm error) and mych easier to read. plus yo can zero them out so you dont have to add and subtract stuff when measureing increases.

Yeah, I've got a set of digitals... Its just a matter of preference functionally between the two but I hate having batteries in things that don't NEED batteries cause inevitably you will need it one time and the battery will be dead.Theres also a noticeable difference in the fit and finish between a set from 5 years ago and the Chinese made ones you can pick up for $30. I'm hoping someone around here would have a set that they'd be willing to let go.I'll check ebay...[Edited on May 7, 2007 at 1:00 PM.
