hey look! some where for danmangt40 to post! excellent.in this thread we will convince you that the Evo is an ugly car, if you do not agree then you lose at the internet. If you do not read my long rants about how ugly the car is, then you lose at the internet. *que the arguing on the internet pic*[Edited on May 7, 2007 at 12:12 PM. Reason : fda]

since when was beauty a priority for Evo owners?
5/7/2007 12:14:12 PM
*shrug*not only is it a priority but we won't rest until everyone thinks its the hottest ugliest car EVER!!![Edited on May 7, 2007 at 12:15 PM. Reason : fda]

lol personally I think the Evo is really attractive, but that's me Haha I was just making sure I knew the purpose of this thread.
5/7/2007 12:18:54 PM
well i've always thought the evo was prettier than the sti...so...

-Golovko's last post in the other thread shows he didn't even read the first part of my last post correctly. Here's how Golovko reasons:He read:"for those of you who are going to post and then have a beer......."and"for those of you who aren't going to get drunk today"then must have concluded:"danmangt40 needs a single beer to get drunk. Everything else he said is just badmouthing my car and I'm both too immature to read and comment AND too stupid to realize that the two statements were labels that are there to mock me because they were a joke to point out that I'm incapable of reading the bulk of a well written post and therefore I would need my own category. But he's still underestimated my attention span because ALL I'm going to read is the titles of the two selections and not even bother to read the two sentences he joking offered for me. I like to fuck guys. Man CL convertibles are hot, and I so got him where I basically called him out by correcting him by saying what he said because he totally didn't already say that. huh huh huh huh Man my car is fast. It must look good."Also:-Golovko thinks there is a "CL convertible"-Golovko said he'd take such "CL convertible" over a jag "anyday." kinda made me think about what an SL actually is to someone who buys an Evo. You gotta figure they take note of the plastic bumpers and additional vents and gray-painted wheels on an SL65 that distinguishes it from an SL500. No wonder he'd rather have an SL. It has an "evo"-buyers model. And, when you think about it, if someone who voluntarily throws their money at a POS like an Evo ever had the ability to save up enough for an SL, Mercedes Benz would want them to be able to still get their "evo" on in a totally "ralliart" way: you can get the SL55 bodykit on pretty much every model without the burden of having to actually buy the revisions you are fronting. An XK, by comparison, only offers slightly larger grilles on the uplevel model. Kinda like my comments about the 350z, about how the distinguishing features don't need to shout because all of the models look right. I know arguing on the internet is never going to change your mind ,Golovko, but that doesn't mean I can't point out what a mindless bastard you are. those posts are long because I actually speak in complete sentences, and occasionally offer rephrasing and explanation. I hope you hit a tree and take yourself out of the breeding pool, but like motor trend pointed out, the evo must look after its own by offering "close to truly idiot-proof handling" that prevents such idiots like you from into flooding the darwin awards with new entries. .

I don't think you know how to use , either, while we're at it.It doesn't mean "you are an idiot"It means "how could you think that, duh"which requires you to show something ELSE is logical OTHER THAN what I say
5/7/2007 1:12:00 PM
was that used right? plz to tell me, kthx.
5/7/2007 1:13:07 PM
you're thinking "holy crap have I got this fool on the run. He'll just say anything. I bet that girl I was looking at at the bar last night was totally into me and my turbo box. I could totally beat the crap out of both that guy with a job she was with and I could beat his mustang with my turbobox."What you're NOT THINKING, and this is the problem, is that you're a plague on humanity and ought to kill yourself. You're dirtying up a legitimate forum by trolling, adding threads to divert where you've been called out for being incapable of doing the only think required for a forum, which is to read and write, and you own the perfect car to match such juvenile behavior, an evo. It's a car that allows you to give the whole world the finger because it manages to make a car that ought to be eliminated from the design pool viable, preventing mitsubishi, which used to be a desirable brand in general for their originality, from experimenting with other products in that price range that might actually help the development of the rest of their line and hence dig themselves out of the toiler.
5/7/2007 1:16:48 PM
lol seriously kid, stfu and get over yourself. i like the way my car looks. you can QQ all you want.
5/7/2007 1:19:23 PM
actually, that is the perfect smiley for you, and I suggest you use that. Smoking will kill you. Imitate. Driving an Evo unfortunately is only likely to get you arrested, which might mean you'd get assraped to death in jail. In which case you should probably do it. Just take apart your center diff and try to make it rwd first. That way, when you fuck it up, the idiot proof handling won't be there to continue your existence. Also, sunglasses on a smiley are somewhat ironic. They match the smoking in that it's supposed to "look cool. So, that smiley you've selected is the "I'm a smug bastard who doesn't know what's good for him." smiley. So that's you. be my guest.

I never said you or anyone else can't like the look of the evo.I just said that to think an evo looks good requires that you either think the lancer is also similarly as good looking or that your entire attraction to the car is because of its performance and its visually different parts. If you can deem a car good looking for pasted on parts that don't actually change the shape, then you've admitted that your attraction is based on the parts. Which is boostgoggles. Which is kinda like a deaf guy saying he had a preference to one american idol contestantYOUR problem is you didn't read shit.
5/7/2007 7:06:46 PM
Last generation's Lancer looks nothing like the Evo, in my opinion. They are two totally different cars. Only similarity is the name. You might as well think the Mirage looks like an Evo.
5/7/2007 8:31:49 PM
But then again, I'm not sure what generation you're talking about.

oh wait? is that right? they are so similar that i get them mixed up sometimes.
5/7/2007 9:44:32 PM
^haha I was about to say...
5/8/2007 1:22:57 AM
That post with the current lancer body comparisons is a red herring. I also would like to point out that the current Evo is the only evo that substantially differentiates its appearance from the regular Lancer. A move that I'd argue lost quite a bit of sales for the base car.
5/8/2007 2:03:03 AM
I have to chime in and say I think the Evo is pretty ugly. I still think it's a badass car, although it's not my style, and I have no problem with people liking the appearance either. I just have trouble liking any upgraded sedan (including the WRX, and even the M3) as a "sports" car, even when I know they're faster than my S2000. When I think "sports car", I think of small roadster or coupe (classic coupe shaped, not chopped sedan like Civic coupes) style cars...think Lotus Elan, MGB, Triumph TR6, Datsun 240z, etc. Or from modern times, S2000, Miata, Solstice/Sky, Z4/M4, 350z, G35 coupe, etc...cars that were designed from the ground up to be a sports car. Of course, there's always grey areas, but it's just my dumb opinion anyways
5/8/2007 8:01:37 AM
^do you think a 240sx is a sports car (dont say "only if it was turbo)? j/w since you say datsun 240z and theyd be comparable in performance, etcLancers and Lancer Evos have looked very different from one another for a while.. I think the Evo II was the last one that looked like a bodykitted Lancer
5/8/2007 9:29:25 AM
I drive an '03 Evo and I'll be the first to admit, I thought they were pretty ugly cars from the start. I didn't buy it because of the looks though, I got the car because it was fun to drive and because it did have a little bit of that ugly duckling feel to it to be honest. The look has grown on me a bit though in the time that I've owned it. As for looking like a base Lancer, from the rear, I can pretty easily see the similarity. Take off the spoiler, and the badges and it would take many people a second look from the rear to determine which is which. From the front however, there is little similarity in appearance.
5/8/2007 10:11:11 AM
Thats because the Mirage carried on in the US for another billion years while everyone else upgraded. The Evo 7 clearly resembles a Mitsubishi Charisma.

I always thought a sports car was something 2 seater. Wasn't there a discussion years back on here about the definition of a sports car?sports sedan (4 door)sports coupe (2 door)sports car (2 door, 2 seater)

"boostgoggles" lmfaoAhmet, i know your not saying a mcpherson strut suspension is better than a double A arm
5/8/2007 5:02:20 PM
NGRs PLZeveryone has diff. opinions on sports cars. there is no say it what one is.some say a miata is one. some dont. some say a mustang is one. some dont.who cares.i think my civic hatchback is a sports car. 99.9% of people dont.
5/8/2007 5:04:10 PM
You know what really grinds my gears? What's up with the big body gaps? I'm positive this company is capable of manufacturing parts to tolerances tight enough to allow smaller gaps between all the body panels. I'm mearsuring just shy of 1/4" for some gaps (but on average about .200"). I hopped over to my RSX and the body gaps are about .100". For an MSRP of 36k i'm sure they could have thrown a nother nickel or two at this.Bit of a WTF on this one... little offset here between rear view mirrors and the adjacent front quarter panels. Mitsubishi should employ less 12 year olds in the assembly line. Red gauge cluster, white center console. I'm not much of an interior designer but i'm surprised somebody didn't decide to pick one or the other. I'm sure some of you will agree that all red or all white would probably look nicer. Here's the RSX interior:+1 for the all red lights, and i'll add that it's much more ergonomic interior design too.hell, that's actually a sexy pic. I just think the rear bumper should look like less of a marshmallow. Of course that's what they had to do to allow for a rear crash beam to meet US safety specs. Here's the JDM rear bumper:With an arguably functional yet undoubtedly nicer looking rear diffuser. This is how it was meant to be folks. And here i digress, don't misunderstand what i'm doing here. I know i know, RSX vs Evo = apples and oranges, just comparing them because they were parked next to eachother. In my opinion i think this is still a well built and really good looking car. I love the look and the stance of the Evo from the front and 3/4 views:Yeah, the recaro seats are badass. Solid blend of comfort / looks / lateral support.P.S. took this pic myself It's got some really aggressive lines that i'll admit most people don't take to. I don't even think it's an aquired taste - it seems like either you like it or you don't. And to the people that have seen my Evo and not liked it, all it takes is for them to go on a ride. A fortunate few i'll let behind the wheel. THAT's when everyone comes to realize that whether you like the looks of this car or not it's not at all what the spirit of this car is about. This car makes you love to drive. I have to race my wife out to the car most of the time just to get into the driver's seat! And she doesn't give a shit about cars and quite frankly thinks it's ugly, but she loves to drive it. I have zero regrets purchasing this car (although i've only owned it for less than 5k miles so far). The SSL package has creature comforts that make it a hell of a daily driver (Sunroof, infinity sound system, leather). I haven't even mentioned the versatility of the car being a four seater, hell there is even a little drop down between the rear seats with a leather arm rest / cup holders, even baby seat fasteners.Aesthetics aside, i don't think i'm being too subjective in saying it's a very fun car to drive. I could see myself owning this car long after i pay it off.Discuss.[Edited on May 8, 2007 at 6:16 PM. Reason : Learn 2 pic]
