I've got a .NET application I need hosted somewhere (hopefully on its own, low end dedicated server). Its a pretty basic app I think, just needs ASP 2.0 and MS SQL Server 2000 or 2005. Reliability is important, esp during business hours. Support is crucial too...we need to be able to get ahold of someone if the server crahses. And the host needs to be well known in the hosting world, someone who's been around for awhile. I was looking at Rackspace but am open to any ideas. Who do you like?

so im between 1and1 and rackspace. seems like 1and1 offers the least amount of support available, and rackspace the most.while i'm leaning towards rackspace to make my life easier, i'm wondering if theres a cheaper managed hosting option that offers decent support for me decent support = 1) taking a look at the Server 2003 installation to troubleshoot problems if the server goes down2) them running daily backups

I would have recommended you a local web server service we have for our website at my company, but their service has gotten pretty bad lately. They had the nerve to charge us customer service fee's for telling them that their server is going down and we need it back up. Suffice to say, we're looking to move. And 30 bucks a month for 500MB of server space and 7GB of monthly quota is pretty pathetic for today's standards.1and1 isn't bad for simple websites, but I wouldn't trust them for sensitive projects or outstanding customer service. I have them and its decent for their cheap price. They have some nice features but no one really uses them.[Edited on May 10, 2007 at 6:43 PM. Reason : ]
