My girlfriend got a no parking area ticket Friday night/Saturday morning in a U permit zone. The thing is, there was a U permit on her car like there always is and she has never been ticketed until hike night. The permit isn't registered to her car though, but the few times I've seen the parking enforcement go down the street, they just look for the sticker. So I'm really wondering if it's worth my time to appeal the ticket or drop the $20 for it. Or just forget the whole thing because she doesn't live here anyway...

Those fuckers wouldn't accept a notarized form stating I was residing in an area where I would need a U permit. Told me I needed to change my address (I was subletting for 2 1/2 months and it wasn't particularly practical) and it would take 2 weeks. When I asked them what I should do for the two weeks they were like " Just appeal it after you get the permit". Luckily I talked to a manager who was much more reasonable the next day, but I can just imagine what would have happened if I had done like they said, " Oh so you didn't have a permit when you were ticketed but you do now? Appeal Denied."[/words]

Parking Nazi's. I know near East Village where the parking is 2-hour until it is "No Parking" after 11pm they wait then have a field day on all the cars still there. I one time got a ticket at 11:01, while stopped for 20 mins so I could DD some friends in the bar home.

I think they pretty much reject all appeals. Pisses me off.

Just don't pay it, nothing will happen. If she gets like 3 or something she might get towed or booted but short of that shes off the hook.
