does anybody else think its just rediculous how players are getting techs or thrown out of the game over the least little thing in the nba? nothing even close to this happens in any other sport.the golden state game was insane. baron davis got ejected for clapping after getting his first technical for doing nothing in a scuffle where hte teams simply had to be seperated.last week duncan got ejected for giggling or something.david stern is is lke a strict middle school teacher.

Baseball is comical. The manager comes out WEARING CLEATS and expects to be taken seriously with his opinion on a call?GTFO.
4/26/2007 5:39:21 AM
do you know how goofy it would look for managers to wear anything else than full gear?
4/26/2007 5:41:14 AM
Are you serious?Do NBA coaches wear jerseys?
4/26/2007 5:44:14 AM
http://www.baseballhalloffame.org/hofers_and_honorees/hofer_bios/Mack_Connie.htmBioConnie Mack was once a catcher, but made his mark as a manager. After a stint at the helm of Pittsburgh, he assumed control of the Philadelphia Athletics in 1901 and continued for 50 years until retirement at the age of 88. "The Tall Tactician," best remembered as a dignified, scorecard-waving leader in a business suit, won five World Series crowns and built two dynasties - with four pennants in five years from 1910 to 1914 and three in a row from 1929 to 1931. He holds the mark for wins (3,776) by a skipper.

Football coaches should also wear shoulder pads. You know, because it would look goofy if they didn't.

"If the NBA was on chanel 4 and frogs making love was on chanel 5, I'd watch the frogs, even if they were comming in fuzzy."--Bob KnightI agree..... The NBA is the worst pro leage out there. (In terms of the players, their attitudes, and quality of play/competition)
4/26/2007 9:33:01 AM
It's real simple with the NBA. Do not put yourself in a situation when a scuffle occurs. I realize that when your number one homeboy gets called a dooty head by an opponent, the logical thing is to start pushing and shoving. Baron didn't do much to get the first "T" I'll agree that, but when he got in the middle of the scuffle, he put himself in jeopardy. When you do, the refs have no idea who pushed who so they make the call based on limited vision, and any time there is a scuffle, you can bet at least one "T" is going to be handed out. Same with Stephen Jackson. He made a concerted effort to get involved in that scuffle and he was 10 yards from where it occurred. Now if I was the referee, I'd have frisked him before "T-ing" him up, never know with that guy.The second "T" on Baron is his own fault. Moral of that story, don't taunt a ref. I realize Dallas was going to kill them in the 4th, but come on Baron, it was the third quarter, give your team a chance Mr. Team leader[Edited on April 26, 2007 at 10:44 AM. Reason : .]

^ yeah, I'd say baseball is the worst of the major pro sports leagues.
4/26/2007 10:49:49 AM
the NHL doesn't even get games on any of the major networks anymore
4/26/2007 10:50:38 AM
^^^i just like how nba players have the worst "attitudes"...tell that to pacman jones or barry bonds
4/26/2007 10:52:54 AM
As far as most incidents with the law I think the NFL and NBA are neck and neck. Bonds is an asshole and a fraud but he doesn't go shoot up clubs, get a half dozen DUIs, or ankle bite strippers on the weekends.** before you go there, I love the NBA... just stating a reality.[Edited on April 26, 2007 at 12:13 PM. i would agree about nba/nfl as far as off court incidents, its just amazing that the nba's stereotype is 100x worse than the nfl'sps: i dont recall any nba OR nfl players pouring gasoline on workers and threatening them with machetes]
4/26/2007 12:57:01 PM
^Yeah, I think there's a double standard there too.
4/26/2007 12:58:24 PM
^^ Oh, there are isolated incidents in every sport but you have to agree that the trend in the NFL/NBA is much higher than in MLB/NHL. Honestly, I think the NFL is the worst for off the field/court trouble but then again they have a ton more players than the NBA.Ugetha Urbina is my hero though. That is some Reservoir Dogs shit.V huh? The first base coach was hit from behind by 2 crazy fans on the field w/o prevocation. It would be like 2 Pistons fans coming out and jumping Ben Wallace at the FT line mid shot.[Edited on April 26, 2007 at 1:03 PM. Reason : x]
4/26/2007 1:02:23 PM
also how come that first base coach didnt get blamed like artest for those fans who jumped onto the field and started punching him before the team kicked the shit out of the fans? double standards at their finest...a bench clearing brawl between 60 baseball players gets forgotten in a week...meanwhile the nba is still the league defined by ron artesti'll watch nba/nfl/mlb regardless, but the perceptions of some people are out of wack
4/26/2007 1:02:38 PM
Well, that is not what happened so I'm not sure what you're getting at... but I'm going to guess that Gamboa wouldn't have gone charging into the crowd throwing haymakers at random people that weren't even involved.Gary Sheffield, who is a known roider and hothead didn't jump in the crowd throwing punches when the Sox fan swiped at him and spilled some beer on him along Pesky's Pole in Fenway.. Artest and Jackson fucked up. I don't know why things always come back to them. They are idiots and have a long history of getting in trouble both on and off the court. I don't blame the NBA for that. I blame the two fuck ups.
4/26/2007 1:27:28 PM
Torii Hunter just got beaned in the face, and he acted like he was gonna charge the mound but then he decided not to...torii is one of the good guys
4/26/2007 1:53:40 PM
That SOB left the game. I needed him to steal some bases and shit for me.
4/26/2007 1:54:52 PM
i'm down 7-0 in SB this week so far but oh well
4/26/2007 1:56:06 PM
i <3 techs in NBA.I made them worth a few more points than normal in my fantasy league. Made Rasheed Wallace quite the baller pts wise
4/26/2007 2:00:48 PM
in my fantasy league i had technicals, ejections, flagrants and disqualifications (foul outs)...in hindsight it was dumb to have those categories
4/26/2007 2:47:45 PM
4/26/2007 3:13:46 PM
I'm not defending the Pacers actions...but you can't compare beer spilling on a player to getting hit in the head with a filled cup. It is easier to escape (jail pun intended) a basketball court and attack fans, Gary would have had to climb a taller fence. There's definitely a double standard and I am not sure why. Other than race, what other reason could there be? The fight with Carmelo was such a big deal, but that same incident will happen in baseball three times this year.
