I'm looking for a system of small articulating linkages or flexible arms to arbitrarily position and orient small items less than a pound within a radius of 4 feet or less. They will be secured with clamps, affixed with screws, or wound with the gooseneck on each end.

I've been searching for combinations of the terms "articulating", "holder", "gooseneck", "clamp", "arm", "mount", "position", etc but can't find exactly what I'm looking for. I've found a bunch of scientific and medical stuff but its much too high precision (=expensive).

Closest thing I've found is this crap but it's not generic enough:

I figured there would be some standard systems for this. Any ideas?
