I would totally pay just to get in the airI LOVE flying. It doesn't look like it'd be too practical for our trips to chicago yet, but it looks like it'd be nice for spur-of-the-moment getaways, even factoring in the drive to GSOhttp://skybus.com/

Geez, this would have been nice a couple of years ago when I was always flying to Columbus. It does look like I could go visit my dad in Vancouver for less than $100 though. Rock. ]

4/25/2007 11:03:36 AM
woohoo. Now if I ever need to go to Ohio I can use this
4/25/2007 11:06:50 AM
It looks like you have to connect through Ohio to go somewhere else. But the flight to Ohio is only $10.
4/25/2007 11:07:43 AM
I at those prices, I can deal with a segmented trip I also would totally fly to vancouver just for the hell of it, and to see somewhere new. I'm just not seeing on there where yet to build a multi-leg trip. All I'm getting is GSO to columbus and back
4/25/2007 11:09:56 AM
wait Greensboro to Columbus to Boston for $20???
4/25/2007 11:10:12 AM
If you snag a $10 seat before they're sold out
4/25/2007 11:11:02 AM
are the planes made of wood?
4/25/2007 11:11:09 AM
This is really making me want to visit a friend in San Francisco now. With the right dates it would cost $60 plus tax.
4/25/2007 11:11:20 AM
I never knew there's an airport at greensboro.
4/25/2007 11:12:17 AM
It's a tiny one. I used it a few times for international trips (study abroad) because it's less crowded and hectic than RDU.
4/25/2007 11:13:04 AM
I like flying out of ATL
4/25/2007 11:16:44 AM
Im still loading their "about" pageis their security as fucking de-humanizing as the big companies? the only reason i've not flown since 9/11 is I'm afraid of going to prison or getting shot if one of those monkies lays a hand on me or someone i'm with terrorists don't scare me though
4/25/2007 11:17:02 AM
my girl and i got tickets to see her folks three times this year (including thanksgiving and christmas for $120 (3 round trips x 2)saved me texa$
4/25/2007 11:18:42 AM
You'll be alright, Grant. I've flown tons of times since 9/11.Once I even had this tool that was for measuring the tension of elevator cables. It was essentially a metal box with a digital counter on the front of it inside a plastic impact case.Looked like a prop from 24. The security guy looked at it, asked about it and let me go. Hardly seemed to care. The only thing that is different is there is slightly more standing in line and holding your driver's license.
4/25/2007 11:18:49 AM
Yeah flying is no worse than before 9/11. Big changes are you are always taking your shoes off for some reason to get through security and they will actually make you take your belt off now if it sets off the metal detector. Other than that, the security really isn't that tough. I flew to CA 3 months after 9/11 and made it both ways carrying a knife on my key chain. They never took it or even questioned it.As for Skybus though, seems like the dates are kind of slim pickings...
4/25/2007 11:22:06 AM
thats the first encouraging info i've heard about the experience. thxu Nick
4/25/2007 11:22:07 AM
I lost a knife flying from Asheville to Milwaukee. But if you get there early enough and forgot to leave something at home you can step out of line and mail it back to yourself with these envelopes.I just didn't have the time. The staff at the airport told me they don't even have the option of keeping the seized contraband for themselves. It goes into these big bags and gets shipped off. I bet there's a gov warehouse somewhere full of pocket knives, finger nail clippers and crochet needles.
4/25/2007 11:25:08 AM
and a shitload of lighters!
4/25/2007 11:32:01 AM
I think instead of taking knives away from everyone, they should give everyone a knife as they get onto the plane. Probably would solve a lot of problems with unruly behavior if people knew everyone on board was packing.
4/25/2007 11:34:24 AM
is this for real??? I could fly round trip to LA for less than $200???
4/25/2007 11:34:55 AM
Seems that way, doesn't it? I'm so serious about just hauling off at $10 a leg just to be in the air. I don't care where we go...We'd fly, have fun, see a few sights, and come home. That's so badass.Haha - Passengers of size[Edited on April 25, 2007 at 11:45 AM. Reason : hahahahaha]
4/25/2007 11:43:23 AM
It would be worth the $10 airfare to go to Columbus and get Donato's pizza.
4/25/2007 11:50:53 AM
Dang, look how far inland San Francisco has moved.
4/25/2007 11:58:59 AM
4/25/2007 12:15:40 PM
This is so gonna save me a ton on my random day trips around the country for no particular reason..awesome.
4/25/2007 12:29:30 PM
That is insane! And fucking sweet, I could hop on a plane here in Richmond ->$10-> Columbus, OH ->$75-> Los Angeles ->$10-> Columbus ->$10-> Richmond.Wow. I dunno why Los Angeles but its pretty sweet.Edit: Taxes and fees of $20.80 per ticket it seems, so +$41.60 to my imaginary bill[Edited on April 25, 2007 at 12:50 PM. Reason : $]
4/25/2007 12:45:49 PM
I've been talking to my dad about how I want to go out to San Francisco again, this is the perfect excuse
4/25/2007 12:48:11 PM
So, how do I find a flight to somewhere other than Columbus?
4/25/2007 12:49:11 PM
Evidently some all planes only go to Columbus, like the Richmond one.Weird. [Edited on April 25, 2007 at 12:55 PM. Reason : ldsjf]
4/25/2007 12:51:19 PM
i'm going to fly to vancouver, spend the day and fly home... or something that's pretty cool, even though you have to stop in ohio.
4/25/2007 12:55:40 PM

5/20/2007 5:58:15 PM
20$ to columbus ohio... then 90 or 120 to get back
5/20/2007 6:08:01 PM
...for the dates you're searching.Change the dates - the farther out the date is, the cheaper you can get your fares.
5/20/2007 6:09:17 PM
I want to go somewhere interestingbut spend less than $500 on the whole trip.
5/20/2007 6:11:12 PM
i just priced out a trip from RDU to Boston (at a time in the future when I will be going) and the more traditional airlines were $100.00 less.
5/20/2007 6:14:23 PM
5/20/2007 6:28:48 PM

5/20/2007 8:55:45 PM
Would hambrosia have to buy two seats?i would fucking hope so. I always get stuck in a window seat next to some fat pile of fucking lard whose rolls are spilling over on to me.
5/20/2007 8:58:06 PM
How can they even afford to pay for gas at those rates?
5/20/2007 9:36:18 PM
^^^^perfect for when you want to spend 12 hours in an airplane stuck to the runway
5/20/2007 10:01:47 PM
Here is the European equivalent... if anyone goes to Europe.http://www.ryanair.com/site/EN/
5/21/2007 10:56:19 AM
^Ryanair is garbage, they charge for EVERY little thing and their planes are always late or canceled...how much are final tickets for skybus after taxes and fees?
