For the last few days, whenever I have been driving my car for a while or even whenever I'm sitting at a stop light, I can hear a low-pitched vibration and feel it in the brake pedal. It doesn't do it every time I drive it, but it sounds like a cow and is alarming. Anyone have any ideas what this might be?

If I had to guess I would say the spark plugs. When was the last time you had them changed? Could also be the spark plug wires.

Hmm. I'm pretty good with my car as far as getting it serviced, but I am not sure if I've had them changed in a while. Does that usually cause a vibrating sound?

Yeah, I know. It seems to come from right behind the dash, but I can feel the vibration every once in a while when my foot is on the brake. It's just like a 2-second vibrating noise, and then it stops.

while you are braking or stopped

Stopped. But mostly it does it when I turn the car off. After the engine stops, I can hear the vibration for like 2 seconds.

hmm what moves for two seconds after the engine stops on an 80 degree day?

^not the problemFor future reference, the Honda people have no idea what this noise is. I even went out and drove around with the technician, and he was like wtf. Apparently it's ok for a Honda to sound like a cow. [Edited on April 30, 2007 at 1:42 PM. Reason : sss]

^ I think you need another technician.

The last time I went to another technician, they put my brake pads on wrong. I'll only take it to the Honda place from now on, and there were various technicians involved.Maybe whatever's wrong just isn't a big deal. [Edited on April 30, 2007 at 3:08 PM. Reason : s]

lol I don't think your car should be making cow noises though. You said the sound starts when you have the brakes on at a standstill?

^Yes, and when I turn it off.
