For some reason my gmail timestamp is incorrect on my desktop. It is an hour off. It works fine on every other computer. I figured the problem would correct itself once the old daylight savings day came and passed, but it did not. My taskbar clock is correct and the timezone is correct.

i imagine you updated java with a dst fix?

Wouldn't windows update have taken care of that?
4/24/2007 10:26:58 PM
i would hope so - but that's the only piece i could think of that gmail might use that wasn't updated automatically

How could I check? I went to windows update and didn't see any dst fixes left to install.

java -fullversion then match the output to the latest java version? or just download the latest versioni'm not even sure if this is what the problem is - just a guess without googling since i imagine you exhausted that already

Yeah, I found a few hits with google, but most of it related to settings in gmail which can't be my issue since it works fine on the other comp.

are you accessing via normal browser or through pop? does it matter which browser you use?

Through the browser and it has the same problem with both browsers.

check your local timezone settings and make sure you're os is indeed patched. Get TZedit from microsoft. Make sure its set to start on the second sunday of march. While I doubt its using java at all, the sun vm does require a DST patch independent of OS.

How do I confirm my os is patched?

TZedit fixed it. Thanks.[Edited on April 30, 2007 at 10:23 PM. Reason : ]
