So the university screwed up and I didn't get paid until 11 weeks after I started. That paycheck included 9 weeks worth of pay. My withholdings were calculated based on that check, but that was $476.10 more than what would have been withheld if I received a paycheck every 2 weeks. The payroll office says too bad, I can't get it back until I file next year. I will only receive 2 more paychecks so by changing my allowances I could only get a small part of that.Is this true? Is there no way to get that money before next year?

are you sure it changed that much?if so, you you can request no taxes be withheld from the next few pays to help even it up.....and most places can rework your pay, they just don't want to.[Edited on April 20, 2007 at 1:46 PM. Reason : .]

^^even if they withheld nothing, they'd have to do so for 7 weeks for me to be even again. I'm not working that long.^Where is gone? SOMEONE has this money. This money is legally mine. I want it back.[Edited on April 20, 2007 at 1:49 PM. Reason : ]

Why the fuck were you still working for them if they didn't pay you after the second week you started?

I'm supposed to get a stipend for doing my research. Whether or not they pay me I still have to do it to graduate.
